I suppose I will now really know until the power goes out, but it appears to be working well for now. Since I had changed from a desktop computer and monitor to a laptop, my electrical load requirements had decreased and I figured I could move downward from my present APC, a BX1300G, to this one that I bought, the BE650G1, which only has one battery instead of 2 like the BX1300G. That way when I need to replace the battery, it is only one instead of two. As it turned out, I decided to move the BX1300G over to the TV, cable box, Blue Ray player, etc., which I presently had on just a standard surge protector. All worked out well, I would say.
I had some trouble removing the battery cover. It took brute force, and I was afraid I would break it, but it held up. Other than it was very easy to set up and has made a massive positive difference in the tangle of wires that used to be under my desk. I am relieved to know that my computer equipment is protected.
Very easy installation and it integrates perfectly with my Synology DS418 NAS system via the USB cable. One side has UPS protection with surge protection and the other side is just surge protection.

Owned my ES650 for roughly 8 years now and besides a couple of times with it picking up the slack running tv, light and personal desktop computer for an hour or so during power outages I today carried it outside to try it running a Porter-Cable 120V 7.5A impact wrench which it did flawlessly. My Schumacher 1150 portable power station wouldn't even start it. Excellent !!!
