Best little camera!

I've owned this camera for about 5 years and I have to say this is the Best multi use point and shoot. I can't even image going back to a regular point and shot (I hope I never have to). When I first got the camera, I did have a problem once with all of my pictures being erased after a fun trip to the keys snorkeling. So that was a little upsetting. But I learned my lesson to always download my pictures right away. However, I haven't had any issues since the incident. This camera is always in my purse, I'very taken it around the world. Its been in all kids of water including saltwater and now that I'm a parent, this camera is tons of fun with the kids in the pool. I would suggest this camera to all of my friends. I hope Canon keeps a camera like this in their line of powershots.

Takes beautiful shots in and out of the water. Just check lens for water droplets. Love it better than my last powershot (2 yrs old)

Awesome Camera

I've owned this camera for about 10 months and its primary use was snorkeling. Boy was I impressed! It takes great pictures both in and out of the water. The camera will stay submerged for over 2 hours at a time and Ive never had a problem. I havent taken it ay deeper than 12 to maybe 15 feet deep but it has worked flawlessly! The buttons are also very easy to use even if youre wearing gloves.
Pros: great image quality, buttons are easy to use underwater
Cons: a little bulky but not too bad

I had this camera for over a year now. I purchased it as soon as it came out. I bought it for our vacation in Hawaii. It was great! Underwater shots, views, night shots were nice. Although the continuing shots did not work as I expected, overall, the camera is great. Had no problems with my 2 year old dropping it on the floor. I had great pictures from the Niagara Falls with all the mist from the falls.
Pros: durable
Cons: slow continuing shots

Good but not Great

I'm spoiled with my SLR and it will take time to adjust to the limits of this camera. However, I would never take my SLR to the pool, the beach or on a boat.
Having used the camera for test shots so far and not used it on an excursion I can say this:
I am happy with video and audio capture
I am happy that it is waterproof
I am happy with 12.1 MP
I am happy it is small
What I don't like is this:
Digital zoom is horrible, analog is okay but limited both with wide and telephoto limits
Clarity underwater (I still have some experimentation to do)
NO FLASH EXPOSURE COMPENSATION!!!
Over all, camera would be a good addition to additional equipment and should not be trusted as a sole camera in one's bag.
Pros: small, 12.1 mp, video and audio capture
Cons: no flash exposure compensation, digital zoom
I would recommend this to a friend!

D10 Delivers over and under the water...
on August 8, 2010

The Canon D10 performs above the water and below, it is durable and withstands the abuse of a three year old boy, who has no limits on which buttons to push, or how far to drop the camera. And he can still take the best pictures with it. His grandfather {me}, loves the underwater pictures that it takes too. Proof is in the results… First pictures taken were of Humpback whales, underwater off Maui; stunning video and pictures of the escort, mother, and calf swimming toward the Rigid Inflatable Boat. Pictures of waterfalls, looking straight up without fear of what would happen were the camera get wet. Resolution is the best, and while we love the Canon 50D we own – this is the camera we take without regard to storage or expense, everywhere in pocket or purse it is ready. And it does the job without the concern of security issues. If we need high quality pictures with no safe lockup available for the 50D we take the D10!
Lacks Raw CR2 resolution - Else Perfect in every way.

Buy it!!!!

I just got this camera for christmas. So far, I've dropped it and taken it in the pool! The underwater video and camera are excellent! It's a little big, but it's waterproof, durable, and it's a cute color anyways. When I dropped it today it made a few scratches on it, but nothing important like the lens, it turned on after like nothing happened. The battery life lasts awhile too! Overall I'd recommend this camera to anyone. Anybody can use it, any age, anywhere!
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, design, underwater video, waterproof
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
I would recommend this to a friend!

Suggestion for a great camera
on January 28, 2011

I've used this on a couple of vacations with great results both above and below the waterline. However, I seem to often forget to change the camera to the underwater setting, which results in the white-balance being off. Sure would be nice if the D10 could "know" it is underwater and adjust accordingly. Just part of the AWB process.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, easy to use
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Heavy/Bulky
I would recommend this to a friend!
