Perfect for me!

I really like this little camera! I bought it a year ago after losing many vacation pictures when my camera got wet jumping onto the beach from a Panga Boat in Mexico.
I do a lot of outdoor stuff. Hunting, Fishing, etc. Now I don't have to worry about losing that trophy fish photo.
I took it on a trip to China shortly after buying it and just got back from a Midddle East trip. I could not be more pIeased. I was and still am amazed at how it takes great low light pictures. Even though it only has a 3 power zoom I still can get some great distance shots. My freinds all want one now.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great pics..failed twice!

I've owned nearly every camera companies underwater cameras and the D10 takes superior pictures over any other brand. Both underwater and inside the house...........But the water seals have failed twice! Both times on family vacations and this is not acceptable. Other companies cameras may not take great pictures like the D10 but what's the point if you have to send it in for repairs twice a year? I'll consider the second generation of this camera because of the great pictures but for now the D10 is getting repaired and the sold on Ebay.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Camera takes a lot of abuse!
on March 14, 2011

So I bought this camera when I decided that I would like something in the interm before I got a new dive camera. However this little camera is not only preforming amazingly but takes a lot of abuse from me. I use it for everything shallow diving, snorkeling, reefing, days at the beach, fireworks, travel and much much more. It holds up well and a battery charge will normally last about two hours with constant use or for the whole day with intermitent use. I wold recomend that if your a shutter bug like my self that you get some spare batteries. I have 4 batteries and while I travel commonly use them all, not in one day though. I find this camera a joy to use and it is so easy to learn the controls. Plus I never have to worry about it getting wet on rainy days or having a ruined shot because ther is a setting for every situation. Enjoy this little guy fits right in my purse or dive gear pocket!
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Shooting Modes mimic 35mm
on March 11, 2011

The PowerShot D-10 truly lives up to the hype of being an "adventure" camera. My husband and I travel all over the world to snorkel, bicycle and hike. I prefer not to carry my digital 35mm while engaging in these activities for obvious reasons, so the D-10 is perfect.
Having over 40 years experience with 35mm cameras, I think the various shooting modes of the D-10 mimic a 35mm and are easily accessed with excellent results; particularly the "sunset" and "indoor" modes.
I purchased the D-10 just one month ago while snorkeling in Maui and found that for underwater shots, the maximum range is 6-8 ft from subject in order to "filter" the blue from the shot. That being said, I was very satisfied with the photos I had taken within that range.
I highly recommend the D-10.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: lcd screen easily scratched.

This is a great camera!
We bought this camera before a trip to Mexico in 2010 and it worked perfectly! It is nice to have a waterproof camera that works well, I would recommend this camera to people who spend a great deal of time in the water, weather it be in the pool or the ocean, it works great for both still shots and video.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Awesome Camera!

I love this camera! I have it over a year now! I bring it everywhere, dropped it so many times, in snow conditions, water conditions and it sill lives!
I absolutely love the manual focus mode and the long shutter hold perfect for night creative shots, wish it was still a little longer though.
The battery life - a few times, I haven't charged the battery within 2-3 week period and still able to capture awesome images with it!!!
I sometimes have hard time capturing images, its usually because I do not have the right setting or I shake my hands too much.
I do wish that the camera is capable with art filters or even have a UV protection lense. I also wish it has HDMI video recorder.
Despite that, I still love my cannon waterproof camera, its my baby :)
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: no hdmi

We purchased this camera in May 2009, and wow we 100% satisfied. We use it outside at baseball games, soccer games, it has been to the beach and in the water (pool and ocean) more times than I can count. We use it outside snowboarding and sledding. 100% water proof, really tough camera. Has some great features, shoots good video too.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Land and Sea MUST HAVE
on February 9, 2011

This little beauty is a must have if you are a water enthusiast. Not only does it take crisp pictures on land, but underwater as well. My husband and I each have one (worth the price) in our dive bags. They are an absolute necessity going snorkeling. We have captured the coolest sea creatures and would totally be bummed if we didn't have a way to share what we saw or something to remember it by. It's so small and compact, (unlike the big underwater housings.) The only camera you need on the boat too if you're afraid your DSLR will get wet or that condensation or humidity will get to it or it getting stolen. The strap accessories keep it on our person securely. The camera let's you screw your strap(s) on any corner of the camera. Easy operation too- even underwater! Movie mode works great in the water too. It doesn't have the color correction filter though like the other shooting modes, but no big deal. I can't say enough about this camera. Awesome pictures in the Pacific waters of Kauai to the Caribbean waters of Bonaire. Oh and the ISO3200 gave me fabulous night shots without noticeable grain. LOVE THIS CAMERA!!
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
