Powershot D10

I've only had this product for a month now and I'm highly satisfied with it. I've tested it out at the beach and the pictures are amazing. You do have to get used to some of the controls. The set up is a little different than the older Powershots.
You have an option as to where you can attach the wrist strap which is nice. This way you can hold it in your left or right hand without a problem and not worry about the strap getting in the way of the shot.
The camera is a little larger than most but it seems very sturdy. It's not going to fit in your pocket as easily as other cameras would but if you want something you can take anywhere; to the beach, pool, or skying, this is the camera for you. It's the main reason I bought it and I feel it's the best one out there right now.

I bought this camer primaraly for useing in and near the water. So far it has held up well considering the amount of use and abuse. I am a swift water rescue tech and needed something to help document rescues as well as training. We are always in and out of the water and so far this has been very handy. The buttons are large enough to use wearing gloves. The camera is a little bit hard to hold on to this way but I haven't dropped it yet. I would recomend it to any one looking for something to use around the water.
Pros: great pictures

I got the power shot D10 camera for christmas. I am terrible with things like cell phones and cameras- i always break them. This camera is not breakable! it is perfect for me. This morning my boyfriend accidentally ran over it in his huge truck and it is still perfect! I was pretty impressed. Just a few scratches on it from other things that broke in my bag around it when it got run over. The lense, screen, flash are fine no cracks or anything. Great camera... VERY DURABLE !
Pros: can withstand being run over by a truck

Great pics..failed twice!

I've owned nearly every camera companies underwater cameras and the D10 takes superior pictures over any other brand. Both underwater and inside the house...........But the water seals have failed twice! Both times on family vacations and this is not acceptable. Other companies cameras may not take great pictures like the D10 but what's the point if you have to send it in for repairs twice a year? I'll consider the second generation of this camera because of the great pictures but for now the D10 is getting repaired and the sold on Ebay.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had this cameras since its release its an excellent camera. Cons Its a bit bulky and has an odd feel in the hand which i can live with if the design is what makes it so durable and allows for its 30ft water capability. Not happy that it doesn't take HD video which is becoming a standard on many point and shoots in its class. The low light performance without flash is gritty but that's the nature of a point and shoot, to many expect SLR quality in a small package.
Reading the reviews the few who had leaks seem to be in the in the minority. Make sure the hatches are closed all the way! They can appear to be closed but they may not be latched properly.
Been to the beach, wading, kayak, water park, skiing, it goes everywhere if i could post a picture you'd wonder what i put it through. Since its been in salt water some oxidation on the corner clip is evident.
I will buy another but i expect to see an upgraded version with HD video and overall spec improvement by the time this one fails. Maybe a bit more pocket friendly.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor Low-Light Performance, Heavy/Bulky

This Camera Can Take a Beating

Last spring it fell of my saddle while I was riding my horse and was lost in the mud in a corral for over a month during which we had a couple of blizzards. When I found it, I cleaned it up, charged the battery and it worked like a charm.
It has also been dropped a couple times and works great in 0 degree weather when my other cameras freeze up. I've never used it underwater but it's nice to use around the pool or in the rain and not have to worry about it.
I've had it for over two years now and am very happy with the pictures and video. It is my first choice when I take video over my camcorder and other video devices.
When I take pictures I don't usually have time to change settings so I'm usually on auto. But, the night setting takes awesome pictures in the dark around the campfire and I have some beautiful pictures using the sun set and fall foliage setting.
My other fancier cameras always get left behind and I seem to use this camera for everything. I've also noticed while others are fumbling with a bulkier camera trying to keep it protected, out of the weather, and in a case, I can get some nice shots they're missing out on.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Awesome little camera

This is a great little camera. We have taken pictures with it everywhere from the pool in our backyard to the Galapagos Islands and Bora Bora. Excellent color correction for underwater photos. Videos of swimming with sting rays. This little camera does it all and is our "go to" camera even though I have a high dollar Canon SLR as well. I'm not afraid to turn my 11 year old son loose with this camera in the water. The best do it all vacation camera I have ever had.
Pros: take anywhere for anything
Cons: stupidly expensive accessories
