Purchased this camera for my birthday and am so far very pleased with the results. The resolution and color are excellent. Some of the pictures that I took indoors actually look better than in real life! How is that possible? I haven't used the camera underwater yet, but am looking forward to doing so. Will probably end up buying an underwater housing as soon as one becomes available so that I can take it deeper than 33 feet. The one thing I would have liked to see on this camera would be a function to control the flash output...a feature I've used quite a bit in my older Canon A620. Would also have liked to see a lenscap.
Pros: High resolution, fast startup, excellent color, easy to use, special scene modes
Cons: no flash output control, no lenscap, limited zoom range
I would recommend this to a friend!

OK - If you ever need to be out in the elements or have a need for underwater shooting, this little camera does the trick. It is not pro quality, but the 12Mpix sensor does a great job in most situations... The controls are a bit cumbersome to use like many of the point and shoots, but for the price you'll be very impressed!! So, if you don't want to carry around your underwater housings for the SLR or you just have to catch that shot in the heavy rain, this is for you... Highly recommend!

I knew it did not have a function selection dial, and did not realize how much I had become use to that Cannon feature. It took some getting use to clicking the buttons to set the shooting mode, and through gloves I have had a problem hitting the right buttons.
The screen is bright and easy to see at angle. It has clean lines, and the strap attachment is strong, and adjusts to any of the 4 corners.
This camera mates Cannon's great optics with a durable case. It worked well in the pool, and will get to the beaches this summer!

I bought the Powershot D10 and took it to the Caribbean- beautiful shots. I adore the versatility of the camera and it is very convenient to go to the beach in a storm and take great pictures without worrying that the water is going to ruin the camera. I was looking for a camera to snorkle with that also took good night shots. I really wanted something that performs well in low-light conditions and I've found it. I even took pictures while speeding down the side of a mountain to test the image stability - no problems for this camera. Crisp, lovely pictures -- macros included
Pros: imagine stability in fast moving car, good pictures in low-light conditions, great close-ups, fabulous portraits, smart auto features move from one shot to another, underwater shots!!, night shots, great for storms
