Camera is not waterproof

Purchased camera for our three week Hawaiian vacation. First day of our vacation took it to the beach to take a few underwater pictures and water leaked into the lcd and shorted out the power. Needless to say we had to relay on our cell phone cameras for the rest of our vacation. Useless for is intended purpose.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Camera

This is a great camera!
We bought this camera before a trip to Mexico in 2010 and it worked perfectly! It is nice to have a waterproof camera that works well, I would recommend this camera to people who spend a great deal of time in the water, weather it be in the pool or the ocean, it works great for both still shots and video.

Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great outdoor camera

I am an avid outdoorsman and needed a camera rugged enough to take waterfowling, skiing, fly fishing and boating that was agile enough to fit in a pocket but could also take high resolution photos of my pursuits. This camera suits those needs nicely, and is also great for family functions, soccer games, etc.
I have found that the shutter speed is a little slow, but I am still learning to use it and have been very happy with my camera so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Pleased With Camera

I've had my D10 for almost a year, and have had the chance to put it through its paces. I haven't had it fail me yet. I've had this camera for my entire trip to Puerto Rico, which included shots at night, shots on the beach, snorkeling shots, and scuba diving shots. The battery life was excellent, I was able to get almost 200 underwater shots without the battery dying. I find that the built in modes help out a lot to get great pictures. Overall, very pleased with the camera, the only thing I don't like about it is the bulkiness...But that's the price you pay for an underwater camera....
Pros: great pictures, excellent underwater performance, battery life, ease of use
Cons: bulky

Best Digital Camera

CanonPowershot D10 is by far the best camera I have owned. It is durable, takes great pictures, and is easy to use. I've used it on cruises, in the ocean, and in the rain.

Good but issues

The PowerShot D10 is a good camera, but it has issues in low light and the flash is weak. I recommend this camera for outdoor use.
Pros: good outdoor pictures, tough
Cons: weak flash, odd shape

Camera for all places

My family and I were heading to our first cruise and we wanted to make sure to capture great pictures underwater. I researched quite a bi and found the features in this little camera to be the best. I absolutely love this little submarine!!!! This camera performed well underwater as it did at the sun and evening. The features were easy to use even while UNDERWATER. I was able to switch from photo to video and manuever other features while underwater. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pictures in the screen, so what you see is what goes on paper. The software that camewith the camera was equally easy to use. I recommend this to anyone who wants a camera that can be taken everywhere (NO MORE FEAR OF THE RAIN). While looking for a camera I found that some of the comperables were either not water proof for 33ft, such as this camera, or have enough megapixels to provide quality pictures. So, overall this is reasonable in price vs. quality (definately getting your money's worth as far as quality). The only draw back is that major retailers did not carry it, so I had to shop online for it. I was well pleased with the entire process though. Thank you very much for providing me with my new favorite camera and great memories.

Love This Camera!

I love this camera! I am in no way a pro at taking pictures, however this camera made me feel like one. It is extremely user friendly. I took it to the beach this year. It took excellent beach pictures, as well as pool pictures.
The underwater pics from the pool were awesome! The night pics at the pool turned out great! I was able to take it out in the ocean waves to take action shots too!
I like the big screen and excellent image quality. It is extremely durable and cleaned up easily by soaking it. It is totally waterproof! Great camera!!
