This dishwasher is garbage

We had our builder install our GE Profile dishwasher as part of a builder appliance package in our high end home in December 2009. It is already broken. It never cleaned our dishes fantastically. Now it doesn't clean them at all unless I completely prewash them first with soap and water (defeating the purpose of having a dishwasher). I can't believe I already have to replace my dishwasher!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The float switch keeps going bad. Replaced it twice in a year.

Good not Great

We've owned this dishwasher for 3.5 years. I wouldn't say that I'm very impressed with the dish washing performance. We are very good about rinsing our dishes prior to putting them in; we use a brush and hot water to "pre-clean" them before going into the dishwasher. After the wash cycle is done, we typically have to inspect them all to see which dishes actually came clean. Also, we are very good about not putting sharp objects on the dishwasher racks as to not damage the coating of the rack. There are currently two spots where the rack coating is coming off and the rack tines are rusting off. After 3.5 years? Wouldn't be as big of a deal if a replacement rack wasn't so expensive. Would I ever purchase this dishwasher again? Probably not. There are many out there and this one doesn't impress me.
With the complaints above, there are some good things that I want to mention to be fair. I really like the top controls, it looks sharp. We have the noise reducing kit on ours and it really is quiet!

Looks nice but doesn't work

The dishwasher was put in by our builder as one the dishwasher options. We have had problems after the first year of it being installed. We bought the extended warranty out of skepticism and of course we were right. The same issues keep reoccurring with the heating function turning on without the dishwasher being in use and then the heating function won't work at all. The other problem was with dishes remaining dirty even with a small load of dishes. So not worth it and I will not purchase a large GE appliance ever again!

Bought this dishwasher new with a contract from Assurance and not only the does the dishwasher perform terribly the service contract is worse

Quiet! Deep cleans! Love it!!

We've had dishwashers before but this one beats them all! When we first used it, we weren't sure it was running. It was that quiet. After we ran it, we were delighted to find that our dishes and glassware were spotless and cleaner than any other dishwasher we had used in the past. Six hours after the machine was done cleaning, we removed our dishes and they were still warm! Amazing insulation, too!!

Received as a gift. Love the top mounted controls and the clean modern look. This is the quietest dishwasher we have ever had. The fan forced drying works well and helps dry plastics too. Overall good performer.
