Paint in microwave peeling

This built in was in our house when we moved in and just recently noticed the paint in the top of the microwave is peeling off. Most likely will will get interior microwave paint, or possibly replace the microwave portion if possible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Peeling paint as well

Just like many others’, ours has the peeling paint issue. This certainly feels like a manufacturing defect that GE should address for those who purchased this item.

I am disappointed that the paint is peeling like many others I am seeing in these reviews. I wish GE would cover the cost to replace this because it quite costly!

Great product, could use better fit and finish

Just installed this unit. My wife and I like the design and functionality. Lots of features that are actually useful, not just belles and whistles. At the same time, I noticed that the assembly work is not accurate enough, so that the side flanges do not fit parallel against the face of the cabinet, leaving tapered gaps on the sides. For the same reason, the gaps between the bottom trim and the sides are different at the two corners. I would say, the factory assembly is accurate within 1/16" (just so), but the tolerances need to be within 1/32" or better, and I am sure that's what the engineers at GE had specified. We spent a serious effort on re-finishing an old cabinet (which used to house a mid-80s GE unit of the same type) and making it plumb and level, so it was somewhat surprising that the assembly tolerances of the oven itself ended up being less accurate than the cabinet installation. Of course, I can just pull the unit back out, loosen a few screws holding the flanges, and re-adjust their position, but it's easier said than done (with mounting holes already drilled into the wood), and shouldn't be necessary. I know this is something that may only be noticeable to the installer, but hopefully is a useful observation nonetheless.

Bigger interior cooking space!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced an old 80s model. I agree with other comment posted, retro fitting was a chore. However, as the main baker in the house, well worth it! Everything is baking up great! The interior cavity holds the roasting pans and bigger cooking sheets. The old version was an easy bake oven compared to this model. The microwave has better function as well, just love my new oven and microwave!

operates beautifully, very functional, and looks good too. i replaced a 53 yr old ge wall oven that was still working but not energy efficient. i would buy it all over again.
