If you hate to floss and even if you do this is the best thing to have. I have been using one for several years and my dentist is just amazed on how healthy my gums have become.
THIS IS MY THIRD TRY WITH THIS PRODUCT .THE FIRST TWO STOP WORKING COMPLETELY WITHIN 3 WEEKS. THIS ONE HAS STOPPED WORKING & A DAY LATER AFTER MULTIPLE TRIES WILL BEGIN AGAIN & THE STOP. I'M VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT
I used this product for about two weeks. When I developed a small bump that is still sore in my mouth I quit using the product. I bought it because I am having some dental work done and wanted to make sure that I did everything possible to keep my mouth and gums clean. I thought this would help clean under a bridge that I could not floss under. As I said, now that area is quite sore so I discontinued use and have an appointment with my dentist to see if he can help with the issue. Also, the product was quite messy to use and did not seem to diminish the need to floss.
not as convenient as I had hoped. I find my finger rests on the button that controls the flow of water inadvertently. I wish it came equipped with a cover to keep the area that has contact with my mouth clean. also I wish it was designed with a bit more of a slender curve to allow it to be held easier. Especially with someone with smaller hands.
I think that the AirFloss in conjunction with my SoniCare toothbrush play a major role in the fact that my teeth and gums are healthier than they have ever been. The only drawback that this product has is that it gets a little bit gross. There is a build up of slime in the reservoir that i put the water in and where the tip connects to the body and it is not the easiest to clean.
Pros: works fantastic, compact and takes up little space
The original AirFloss works well although construction is poor. I have two that leak around the nozzle. The second model with what I call automatic mode - keeps firing if you hold the button down - is not as good. Weaker burst does not clean as well.
Have not seen them in store for a while. I suspect the failure rate of the Pro is so high (based on the reviews) that retailers do not want the hassle.
I have tried mouth washes, but changed to peroxide (which the dentist recommends). The problems I see in addition to Phillips practice of continuous product degradation is that a vacuum builds up in the reservoir as the AirFloss is used so it shoots less and less liquid.
Right now I have decided not to consider the Pro for two reasons;
1. It looks like it has a high failure rate and even if it is under warranty I don't want the hassle of sending it back and waiting for a replacement.
2. It is not available from the normal retailers I use.
I never liked to floss but using the Air Floss Pro has changed me! It's easy and makes my mouth feel so clean. I like having the option of filling it with water or my favorite mouthwash.
