Totally ineffective compared to 10000 lux...

I bought one of these with the idea of replacing an old 10000 lux white lightbox. It proved to be totally ineffective.
After doing some reasearch I could find scant evidence from peer reviewed clinical trials that the device actually works. Highly disappointing.
What even more interesting. I had one of the original Apollo/Philips Golite M2 blue LED boxes and it worked great. I'm wondering if recent design changes have had a negative impact on the devices clinical utility.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I use the light all year long. I have gone from waking 20-30 times a night and now only wake about 6 times and even then, very briefly. The rechargeable feature allows me to take it to the sofa and have my coffee or take it where ever is most convenient.
Pros: battery charger
I would recommend this to a friend!

Helps with SAD but power cord is poorly placed

This product helps with my seasonal affective disorder. The only issue I have with it is the placement of the power cord. It plugs into a slot underneath the stand, which causes the stand to press against the power cord if you want to lay it flat while charging it. My power cord no longer works reliably because the plug has been damaged by the stand during charging. Sure, you can argue I should have always charged it standing up, but 1) I didn't know that and now it's too late, and 2) I should be able to charge it in whatever position is convenient for me. I probably won't buy this product again when I have to replace it due to this design flaw.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Didn't Work for Me...

First of all, I’d like to say that I received a free sample of this BLU Energy Light for this review. I’ve never tried anything like this before, so I was excited to try this product out.
The first thing I noticed was that the light is compact, lightweight, and comes with a nice travel bag. When plugged in, it gives off a nice glow, similar to a night light. I was able to set it on my desk and use it while I worked on my computer.
To be completely honest, I haven’t noticed any changes to my energy levels since using this product. Like I said before, it does make a nice night light, but besides that, I’m not sure that it really has done a whole lot for me.
In conclusion, I wasn’t impressed with this product. Maybe someone else will have better luck with it, but for me, I’ll take a pass.

I can honestly say that I did not see any difference in my energy level. I was disappointed. I also found the blue light a little annoying and sometimes actually fell asleep while it was on. I would not recommend this product to anyone and unless I used it incorrectly. It looks to be a little expensive for what it does not do!
Pros: nice design
Cons: i found product does not do what it says

Not worth the money

I received a free sample of the Philips Energy Light. I was excited to start to use the product because I am a busy stay at home mom and have three kids. I often feel that midafternoon slump and could really use additional energy without having to grab a cup of coffee. I read the directions for the Philips light and used it consistently for a week. Unfortunately I was unable to see any improvement in my energy level. In a couple of instances I also felt like the light was hurting my eyes. It was the appropriate distance away as recommended in the brochure and the light was on the lowest setting. Still, my eyes felt tired and strained when it was on. Overall I could see how someone might be led to believe that this light could help with your energy level but to me it would be more of a placebo effect than anything else. I am glad it was a free sample because to me this would have been a waste of money.

Morning energy...

I was sent a free sample of this product to review. It is not something I would normally be in the market for but was pleasantly surprised. During the winter months I have used it first thing in the morning while getting ready for work. I didn't notice a huge difference in my energy level but then I have never had big problems with seasonal affective disorder (as I live in the south). I was pleasantly surprised that I did begin to feel slightly more awake and energized when using the light first thing in the day. Product is easy enough to use and very portable.

Upon receiving this energy light in exchange for a review, I was a little apprehensive as to what it was all about. At first, it gave me a headache as it was SO bright. However, I also had it sitting on a desk right next to me. Then I started moving it around a room that I was just simply in and I have to say, I do believe it has made a difference! While making dinner one night I just had it on and I never seemed worn out or tired, it really seemed to boost my energy. I love the fact that it is very small and compact and once fully charged, can go anywhere!
Pros: so easy to use, very compact
Cons: seems very bright at first
I would recommend this to a friend!
