Great mouse, but not for everyone.

I received my Razer Naga last week, and after getting used to it, I don't think I can live without it! I play MMOs and FPS', and once you become familiar with it, the Naga gives a definite edge over clicking or keyboard hotkeys.
In MMOs, I can easily circle strafe enemies in PvP while spamming skills, which kept me out of their line of sight. In FPS' its easy to swap to specific weapons without having to cycle through them using the mousewheel.
In terms of ergonomics, the Naga is definitely not for everyone. The 12 button grid is a bit too far back, and hitting the higher numbers (10, 11 and 12) takes practice. The two extra keys, next to the left mousebutton, are small and are difficult to hit without clicking. The Naga is a bit smaller than other gaming mice, so players who use the "Palm" method, where you rest your palm on the back of the mouse and move it with your wrist, will find it difficult to handle and press all the keys. I use the "Claw" style, in which I use only the tips of my fingers to hold and move the mouse while keeping my wrist still, and I found this to be a more natural way of holding it. The Naga is also slightly angled to the right, so the hand is rotated, and the wrist feels more comfortable.
Using the latest firmware, every one of the 17 buttons plus the wheel on the Naga is programmable, as well as on-the-fly DPI cycling for FPS'. Razer also provides none-ToS breaking mods for several MMO games, but they're not really necessary.
Using the Naga in conjunction with a Belking Nostromo, I setup my buttons to have access to 80 hotkeys! With some tinkering, you can have even more. At that point, its only a matter of memorizing which key does what, which I am still far from accomplishing, but I can already tell that I'm more efficient and my increased DPS meters prove it. It takes time and practice, but the Naga is a real upgrade to my gaming.
Pros: Gaming

Pretty big mouse and it might take some time to get use to. Took me about a month to get use to the Naga keys.I would highly recommend gamers that play mmo games.

A for innovation and F for implementation
on November 17, 2011

Pros:
- 10+2 keypad.
-Little sticky pads that come with the mouse to stick on numpad buttons to help with getting oriented (but they don't hold well, and so, are not a good enough solution).
Cons:
-Back and Forward buttons are useless due to placement and depression direction.
-After every reboot, the mouse requires unplugging and repluging to function (same problem on multiple pc's and/or ports).
Other Thoughts:
-Lack of a free wheel mode is dopey to me (this should really be universal by now).
-It's not HID compliant. I understand requiring a specialized driver for the 10+2, but requiring junk drivers for simple 2key/scroll/backforward is just lazy...or overly forceful at least.
Anyways, A for innovation and F for innovation, at the same time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It is very happy to have a RAZOR again, for the first one was being with me for 5 years and it is just worn out in some places and still functional. And for the new one, I like the blue light breathing effect! So cool!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas for his alienware pc. He absolutely loves it. We like it better than the wireless because it doesn't lose the battery life.
Pros: we use for gaming.
