After a few years of moderate use, it stopped working and needed an expensive repair. The bad part is called a touch membrane. The only reason I did not purchase a new dishwasher is because after reading customer reviews, I could not find a worthwhile replacement. Dishwashers should come with 'Let the buyer beware' warnings!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
