Excellent product and software/driver support

We have been using Canon printer/faxes for years, but Canon refuses to develop 64-bit drivers so we have been scrapping them. We are replacing them with the Brother MFC-8890DW. An excellent price and a solid performer. This unit works with ALL our computers, including the newer Windows 7 64-bit systems. We are very satisfied with our switch to Brother.

Been using this machine for about a month now and have found it to be the most user friendly I've ever purchased. It is fast, easy to use and produces great documents. It is a little noisy but all of the pros outweigh that issue by a mile!
I would recommend this to a friend!

We have a small family business and use this machine constantly. It performs like a charm and is extremely dependable. We particularly like the duplex feature - it saves a lot of time and effort. We have not found anything negative to report.

Best features for the price

We've had this unit in our office for almost a year now without a single issue. We're an I.T. Services company, and do a lot of scanning. We chose the MFC-8890dw because it offers scanning features often only found in high-end (5 figure $) copier/multi-function units - specifically the ability to scan to file (SMB share) or to email (as PDF attachment) directly from the device without needing to use a computer. The duplexing (both printing & scanning) works flawlessly, great speeds and arguably offers the best overall value in terms of features for the price.
We don't print envelopes - so I can't speak to the other reviews saying that the unit has a tendency to crinkle envelopes. Being an I.T. Services company, this unit has become our default recommendation to our smaller customers who need a fast, dependable multi-function. We've sold & setup over a dozen so far and haven't had a single issue with any, and our customers love these units.
The only reason I'm not giving it a 5-star rating is that the web interface to configure the device is slow to navigate, and it took us a little bit to figure out the right settings for scanning to network share and setting up one-touch buttons for scan destinations.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Duplex scanning and printing

I purchased this machine to replace an older Brother all-in-one. I chose this particular model because it offers duplex scanning as well as printing. Many of the documents I need to scan are printed on both sides of the paper. I can place a stack of papers in the sheet feeder and it scans front, then back and moves on to the next page. The duplex printing feature has already saved lots of paper and file storage.
We use this printer on a wireless network and it has worked seemlessly. It was easy to set up and just keeps on working.
Great printer for a small office.

The MFC-8890 is the best printer that I have ever owned.
The cost per page is outstanding for this cost point. The features that this printer offers are common in printers that cost thousands more. I use it to print training material that I have scanned and print the PDF file from a thumb drive inserted into the printer.
Did I mention the duplex scanning? WOW!

I purchase high yield OEM replacement cartridges which are not over priced. When I purchase a laser color printer it will be a Brother, or maybe Brother will give me a free MFC9970CDW for my excellent review.
