Magnetron went out twice in 2 years. Very disappointed! This appears to be a very common complaint.

Loads of space -

I purchased this because my children moved back in and my current fridge couldn't handle the overload! It does have an occasional issue with water leaking out of the bottom of the fridge below the freezer. Haven't figured out where it's coming from! There is a flat block of ice below the freezer drawer! Ice maker jams or freezes into a solid block coming from the ice maker to the catch bin! My son didn't close the veggie draw, closed the door and cracked the plastic draw. Other than that, it's a good refrigerator! Just keep a towel handy to wipe the water off the floor!

Sorry Whirlpool, you got some work to do

Bought this model and had it in our home for 30 months. Warranty maintenance showed up on it FIVE times as the unit blower fan for the upper compartment just shuts down. Temperature reached over 50 degrees in upper compartment on a number of occassions. We had to turn off and recycle all power to the unit for the blower to come back on. Problem is still not corrected, but warranty issuer is replacing the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my 27 cu. ft. Latitude™ French Door Refrigerator by Whirlpool. If I could marry a refrigerator--this is the one I would marry--Love this thing!

Refrigerator too warm, won't make ice

I have had this refrigerator for about 7 years and have had issues with the refrigerator portion not cooling properly. It can easily run 55-60 degrees. The freezer works fine. Repairmen can't seem to fix the issue. I have seen many other reviews online regarding the same problem with this model. Some say replace the door seals, some say replace the main control board. In both instances I see that the problem doesn't really go away. I'm not impressed with the refrigerator and I will be replacing it (probably with a different brand). The problem with that is my whole kitchen has matching Whirlpool appliances! (I have a competitive model I purchased 28 years ago and it is still running strong. I now use it as a back up in my garage.)

Microwave function dropped dead

Bought in 2010, but for a summer vacation home where it gets light use for only two months a year, so its actual age at death last Fall was about 14 months at most. We were going to call our excellent repairman but, according to the reviews, the problem is most likely the magnetron and a replacement will also fail in a short time, so we'll have to spring for purchase and installation of new micro-convection, which very definitely will NOT be a Whirlpool.
