Purchased to replace a home theater computer. I am impressed that the smart features work very well. We are happy with its menu and services.
Pros: Realistic color

Fantastic at the beginning...

I received this Samsung Blu-Ray player for Christmas this past year. It worked fantastically when I first started using it. I have more DVDs than I do Blu-ray discs so I played more DVDs on it, but bot seemed to work perfectly until about 3 months later when I would play a Blu-ray disc and it would not even run the disc and then it would come up with an error screen. Then, about a month later when I was watching a DVD, the disc would freeze while I was watching it. I tried several different DVDs and Blu-ray discs and both these situations continue to occur. To me, I would prefer that any of my electronic devices would last longer than 3-5 months before they stop working. I would never recommend this Blu-ray player to anyone.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My husband and I have loved our blu-ray player. It is a very simple machine and easy to use but also advanced enough to have the apps for hulu and Netflix and pandora. We also have the Samsung t.v., sound bar and phones and they work together flawlessly. My husbandeven figured out how to make the phone and t.v. talk together to display our YouTube play lists. Happy Samsung owners here and we will continue to own "the next big thing".
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: netflix doesn't work consistently

Only one minor flaw

It's Samsung, 'nuff said. It works great. It has lots of features. It is compact. It was a very good price among the competition. The smart features are on par with the other TV/BD firmware packages I have used, however...
It does not have the Amazon Prime Instant Video service in it's lineup. That really should be a standard, like Netflix and Hulu. If this is a deal breaker for you on this model, Samsung does have 2 other models with Amazon in their lineup. Had I known this prior to purchase, I would have opted for one of the other Samsung models which do have Amazon.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, compact
Cons: does not have amazon prime instant video

I was for it to be a decent blu ray player, but it decided to stop play blu rays.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: won't read discs

Access to web features like Netflix is excellent. Only wish you could control both television and blu-ray player with one remote.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: remote not programmable to work with samsung tv

I love this blu ray player. I bought it together with my new 50" flat screen and the pictures are amazing. The only downside, and its very minute, is that you cannot manually reach the controls when it is sitting on a shelf. I just hunt and peck and eventually find it. Otherwise, it was the top rated blu ray player with lots of apps and I'm very happy with it....................
Pros: Lightweight, small footprint, good quality
Cons: no illumiated read out, wish controls were infront instead of top
