We've had this vacuum for at least 2 years now and it's really a nice machine in general. It's very lightweight, fairly easy to maneuver and picks up quite well. I've yet to have to replace a belt or do anything other than to replace the washable filter (the gasket was torn). What I really think sets this vacuum apart is how serviceable it is. You can get to the beater brush assembly and the belt within seconds. It is very easy to trace the suction hose through the body and into the dustbin should something get stuck. Additionally, the lift-off dustbin/cyclonic assembly comes apart very easily for cleaning. Normally, you'll just need to dump the rubbish out of the bottom of the unit. But occasionally, I've found clogs inside the cyclonic parts - it's not a big deal - because you can have it apart in seconds and hose it out easily. We've owned many vacuums in our time as homeowners, but this unit is easily the most balanced and serviceable. My only criticisms are with the hand tools (the extension wand just isn't long enough), the rear wheels don't seem to do a great job of keeping the body from dragging on the floor, and you WILL lose suction if you don't keep a keen eye on the main filter and ensure the cyclonic assembly stays clog-free.

I have a long haired dog and this bagless upright works great for picking up hair. I haven't had any problems and use the vacuum once a week.
We were given this vacuum as a gift, and we have been very happy with it. The only slight problem we have had is the bucket getting a little clogged, but other than that it really picks up great!
I love the wind up cord, the canister is relatively easy to dump, and the suction is great. I came to the site hoping that I would find a recall regarding the belt--or that mine was missing a part. Every time I switch surfaces (rug to tile etc.) the belt falls off. If I happen to run over anything larger than a pebble (I have 4 kids) the belt falls off. I spend more time putting the belt back on than vacuuming.
For the money you can't beat it. I had a Bissell that didn't last 3 yrs. Parts started breaking on it left and right but I have had this Hoover for 5 yrs and the only I have had to replace was the dirt cup because the little clip on the bottom broke. I must say the little latch was a cheap design.
This model has powerful suction and cleans my carpet thoroughly. The hose is of fairly good quality and flexes and stretches nicely. The cord rewind system is very handy and I like it. I especially like the transparent dirt bin so I can see what I sucked up and it's easy to dump. I am quite happy with this machine and would recommend it.
I bought a Hoover Wind Tunnel Rewind UH70120 which I have used three times. From the first this machine has spat out clumps of debris it was supposed to pick up. The intake tube from the brushes to the dirt cup immediately became clogged and was extremely difficult to clear. I tried 12" kitchen tweezers, chopsticks, a wire coat hanger to clear it and it took over an hour with two of us working on it. A complete waste of time and money. I have reviewed the assembly instructions over and over again and cannot solve the problem. I cannot recommend this product unless it is replaced by a better functioning vacuum. I have owned Dysons until now. I have no children in the house and I have one small non-shedding dog in residence. I have both hardwood and carpet flooring and want to clean as many surfaces as possible with my vacuum. I would appreciate an email response from your Customer Service Department
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi misscesca, We apologize if you are having trouble with your Rewind. The best way to unclog the lower hose is by removing the base plate and brushroll to for easy access. Also, removing the main hose and running a broom handle through it clears any jams there. We are also sending you an email as requested. Thanks!
