The Windtunnel offers a clear view of the debris collecting capability of this vacuum. Unfortunately, when you get over the novel experience of watching your debris swirl around in the canister, you start to notice the debris that swirls around your feet every time you click to utilize the attachment. Much debris gets clogged in the vacuum before reaching the canister to unhooking the attachment releases it into the room- certainly seems like this might be a design flaw. The lack of suction in the attachment is actually shocking given its very short length. One would not think it would be possible to loose suction so close to the tank. I wanted to say something positive about this model, so I will say that it is relatively inexpensive. The consumer's report that I read prior to purchasing this vacuum made it sound like a great buy. I cannot confirm this statement. I can only confirm that I would have replaced it sooner, except I would have to admit to my husband that this was not such a hot purchase and I find such admissions distasteful.

Hi Nickname, it sounds like you may have a clog that you have not been able to find just yet. We have a few steps that you can try that should get your T-Series working the way it should again. First, when you run the vacuum, does the system check indicator (the green window on the dirt cup lid) turn red? If so, please check the filter inside the dirt cup lid and make sure that it is clear. You can rinse the filter out with warm water (not boiling) and give it about a day or so to dry. Also try removing the main flexible hose from the vacuum and run a broom handle straight through it (just in case there is something in there). We hope this helps. Please let us know if you need any more assistance with this. Thanks so much!
In four months, my infatuation with this vacuum has turned to solid disappointment--especially because it was highly ranked (Consumer Reports), and it was an effort to even find/buy it and had to be special ordered. Issues: • The suction went from great to erratically 'OK' when I started finding debris in the hose. I pull out what I can reach, but why it's happening when the dirt bucket is empty and the filters are clear, I don't know. • At four months, I am now on my 3rd belt. The first one broke when a thread from a small cheap rug was sucked up into the vacuum. The thread was no thicker than your average knitting yarn. The belts are nowhere to be found in stores either. Apparently, most belts for vacuums have to be ordered online. • The second belt broke when-get this-the vacuum sucked up its OWN cord! The cord is now stripped of its black covering in two places. For safety, I should get the cord replaced. But the hassle of sending the vacuum for repair is too much at the moment and electrical tape will have to do. • The upholstery tool is not working, even after the small amount of debris has been removed. Troubleshooting it as the manual instructs has come up with nothing.

Hi ShelBetty, it sounds like you may have a clog in your flexible hose area. Try removing that hose from both ends and running a broom handle straight through it. That should clear out any clogs. We'd strongly suggest taking your T-Series into one of our repair shops: http://hoover.com/locator/ so that we can have that fixed. We wouldn't recommend using your vacuum until that is taken care of. Always be mindful of the cord when vacuuming. It's not good to run over it with the vacuum. Let us know if you need any more help. Thanks so much!

Hi SjBiggs, we'd love to help but we'll need a little more information on those seals. We're sending you a private email so that we can better assist you. Thanks so much.
The suction is great on the vacuum. But the belt keeps coming off and then I can't use it again until I can get someone to put it back on for me. It is very hard to fix.

Hoover uprights have been my go-to vacuum. Not any longer. I realzie I purchased an inexpensive model, yet I still think it should work. The suction is mediocre, it's very noisy, and the accessory hose is short and stiff. The hose continues to reclaim its tight form and it makes it extremely frustrating to work with. It feels as if you are chained to the vacuum with nowhere to go.

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate your feedback! Please check your unit and make sure that your belt is intact. Also, check the filter for possible clogging. If there are no clogs, the problem with suction may that the your height setting is too low. If it is set too low to the carpet, air flow within the unit will be reduced, causing a loss of suction and performance. Hopefully this will help!
Don't be fooled by this vacuum. It will work well for about a year and then it's all down hill. I've owed this vacuum for 4 years. I hated it from day one but it picked up dirt so I kept it. Pros: Washable filter Price Cons: Hose is too short The cord rewind feature damaged the cord about a month after I bought the vacuum. I had to wrap the cord in electrical tape. The cord rewind button broke after 2 years and now the cord will not stay extended, it sucks up automatically once its pulled out The Hepa filter at the bottom of the vacuum comes out if you bump the vacuum on any surface. I've tried duct taping it closed but the heat from the vacuum loosens the tape. When the filter comes out, all the dirt you vacuum is spread in the air. VERY loud-will wake the neighbors its so loud The dirt cup is very small and the funnel in it traps dirt so in order to empty it, you have to stick you hand in and pull out the dirt.

Disappointed that you cannot turn off brush roll while using hand tools. Do not appreciate that dust and dirt from roll system spits out at me when I try to use the hand tools. Unfortunately I've had this product too long to return it.
