Bought this vac about a month ago, and also saw it was highly recommended in a recent issue of Consumer Reports magazine. My 7 year old Hoover Mach 3 was on its last legs so time to upgrade. Vac was easy to put togther. Fantastic suction. Lots of features for the money too. I appreciate the performance indicator. Cleans very well. No problems to speak of so far, and oh by the way, I read the Owners Manual first and keep it handy just in case. Very happy so far. Another plus I just remembered, its much quieter than the 7 year old Mach 3. Very pleased to date!
Works great at vacuuming but retractable cord stopped working after 3rd use. That makes it very frustrating. The retractable cord feature was what caused me to choose this Hoover product over another brand costing less.

Hi mikep! That sounds frustrating. It's important not to pull the cord past the red sticker or the cord reel may lock. If you're unable to get the cord to retract we recommend bringing the vacuum in for service. To locate a repair center near you please visit: http://hoover.com/locator/. I bought my windtunnel rewind pet 3 months ago, and I couldn't believe how much cat hair my old Kirby was missing !!! I had a big job to do after a storm left many leaves on my patio, so I put the Hoover to work...After sucking up 90% of the patio leaves, all of a sudden, the Hoover died! I discovered that the hose was completely plugged up with leaves, so I took the whole unit apart and cleaned it out. I was very impressed about how simple it was to remove all the components of the unit, and was able to remove all the debris...I held my breath after putting it all back together thinking I had destroyed the motor...BUT...after I plugged it in...IT WAS FINE!!! Apparantly, there is a sensor to monitor overheating the motor and it cut out the motor before any damage could be done...I LOVE MY HOOVER and so does my cat !!!
i have a hoover power scrub which is a tremendous product, one of the best things i own and i needed a backup vacume vacume to my 1600 doller german miele, well this thing is sucking up all the things the miele did not and raised the pile to, best purchuse ii ever made along with the power scrub, cool retro look also. cant stress how great this woeks
I bought this over the weekend for my all wood floor house. I have 4 pets. The brush never shuts off and as a result the pet hair is constantly blowing in all directions instead of being sucked up. I am going to try to return it to the store for a refund.

Hi melissamcohen, that is awesome on carpeting but it is true that there is no mechanism on it to shut off the brushroll. We'd recommend picking up a unit with a brushroll shut off feature for use on bare floors. We have a number of them available here: http://hoover.com/products/compare/. Hope this helps. Thanks so much!
I have had this vacuum for several months now and let me tell you, it works great! Although not specifically stated, it picks up animal hair wonderfully. I had NO idea there was so much still in my carpet with my previous vacuum. Easy to use attachments make for quick work when switching from floor to hand held operations. See through canister allows you to know when it is full and with a press of a single button it opens to empty effortlessly. No more bending over time and time again to wind the cord as with one step it recoils back into place without issue. This vacuum is light enough to carry up and down stairs without hindrance. I would prefer more suction, but for the job I need it to do around the house it works fine with the power it has now.
I purchased this vacuum cleaner because I loved its predecessor the Hoover Elite Rewind. However, this unit is nothing like the one that came before it and has done nothing but give me headaches from the beginning. The bagless canister is too small. The vacuum overheats all of the time causing the belt to become unsecured. Hoover offered to send a replacement belt, but it has been doing this from day 1, and I am certain that the belt is not the problem. They also offered to send a replacement vacuum cleaner, however, there is nothing wrong with the unit except the engineering. Although their Customer Service has been good at receiving feedback, I don't know that I'll be purchasing another Hoover. :(

Hi mejerrymouse! Sorry to hear your T-Series is not meeting your expectations. We pulled your records and saw we spoke to you in 2013 regarding the problem with your cleaner and discovered it was a filter issue. Filters just needed cleaning.
