I'll just start off with my view of the pros and cons first: Pros: Powerful suction, good carpet agitation, moderately light weight, easy dirt disposal and access to filters for cleaning. simple design when it comes to accessing the brush roll, not overly loud. It does its job of picking up off of carpet well. Cons: No headlight, the rewind mechanism makes the cord short and the canister smaller, increasing the need to empty it more regularly (although this also increases the air velocity in the canister, possibly assisting suction/prefiltration, to an extent...), the detachable hose is very short and its high attachment point creates a tipping hazard < --- there are regular attachments for the hose, but its length reduces their usability, the brushroll can't be turned off, prohibiting use on bare floors. Finally, as with most Hoover vacuum cleaners, this particular model features antiquated "dual" cyclonic filteration, which uses only a single large cyclone to spin dust out of the airstream, before going through the filters and exiting. There are two main issues with this design: #1 One large cyclone will never work as well as multiple smaller ones (hence their fanatical use and succesful boasting of by Dyson in commercials) in filtering out small debris. #2 The plastic particulate screen around the cyclone has holes positioned vertically rather than horizontally. This causes fluff to collect all around it, quickly deadening suction power (this design has been revised in some of the newer models, like the AIR SERIES, which includes more cyclones and a horizontal screen. I would recomend one of those over this model, a T SERIES). I've been around Hoovers/ vacuums all my life and know them inside out, and this is a good model *if you plan on vacuuming relatively small areas on a normal basis*, but with the design flaws, this model is not suited for pet hair, high places or tile/wood. As a long term review, I've used this successfully for over two years, and only had to replace both filters this year from natural wear and tear. Overall, this is a good vac.

Hi KnowItAll, thanks for the thoughtful review. We appreciate our customers' feedback and really do use it when thinking about new models. We have some exciting products on the horizon, so keep an eye out and we will look forward to your next review.
Purchased about 3 years ago and couldn't be happier. The unit has maintained high suction since it was new. Love saving money not having to purchase bags constantly. For the money, this unit has exceeded my expectations!
Works great on carpet. Terrible on wood because the roller keeps spinning and cannot be turned off. You should expect to spray dirt all over your floor (and the carpet you just cleaned so nicely) if you try it on bare floors. Terrible and I would return it if they would take it back. They should not market this as a product that works on bare floors.

Hi Katherineagps, this model T-Series does not have a brushroll shut off feature or scatterguard to assist with hard floor pick up. We're sending you an email now so that we can better assist you with this. Thanks!
When my husband and I first bought this vacuum we thought it was great. After owning it for about a year and half we HATE it! It is constantly clogging and every time we go to vacuum, it will stay on for about 5-10 minutes and then overheat and shut off! It is so frustrating! I tried calling the number on the back of the vacuum and all the woman on the other end said was "I guess you'll just have to snake it." Super helpful! I now have to snake the vacuum before every use and it still doesn't work. How about giving me a better vacuum Hoover? My husband and I will not be purchasing another Hoover product again!

Hi kateg, We want you to love your T-Series again. if the hose is clogged, oftentimes it's because of a dirty filter. Just take it out from under the dirt cup lid and rinse it for a few minutes under warm water. To "snake" your hose, all you have to do is detach the hose at both ends and run a broom handle through it. We're sending an email to follow up. Thanks!
I love this WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Plus Upright Vacuum from Hoover! It has been such a reliable vacuum for me the last few years. I love that I can rinse out the filter in the sink and reuse it! My house is mostly carpet and I vacuum a couple times a week. I have kids and pets in my house frequently and vacuuming up after them is a necessity! I havent had any issue with this vacuum and I can see it lasting for years to come!
