Love this printer, BUT

I love my new printer. Wide format, used defined print size (to a point), ink use reasonable, ease of use, almost everything I could have asked for. The BUT is when you define a size you cant make it border-less (certain sizes are bore-less) AND limited to 33 inch length. I have a panoramic camera and would like the possibility of printing 10X44 or 13 by whatever. I'm limited to 6 1/2 to 33 which is ok but not what i want. 8)

The printer is good but there is just one thing that is a draw back, having roller marks on your final print when using glossy paper.

Printer was easy to set up. Runs fast and quiet. Prints great on regular paper but I need it to print on card stock and on glossy paper that is not photo paper. The glossy paper looks gross even though I tried lots of different settings. And the 8.5X11 card stock ran through better than most printers... but it ended up printing crooked.

I just received my Epson Workforce 1100. I didn't realize how large the printer is. It was very easy to install the printer and hope to give more input when I'm able to use it.

Noise factor

One huge complain is the big noise the machine makes to print a color photo. Other printers I have had were much more quiet. Surely the engineers can find a quieter way of printing photos. Honestly, the noise level was a big surprise. However, the speed of the machine is commendable. The ink is expensive. Is there anyway to make it cheaper?

WorkForce1100

The printing quality for this 4 color printer is outstanding. I replaced a dead Epson 3000 with this WorkForce 1100. I print a monthly 4 page (11x17) short run full color newsletter on plain paper. The WorkForce 1100 has a larger print area than the Epson 3000 and it is faster. I have an Epson 7880 8 color printer that I use to produce photo posters and the 1100 comes very close to the quality of the 7880. The only disappointment with the 1100 is the rediculously small ink cartridges used in the 1100. It uses up the color cartridges on 30 pages (printed 2 sides) of the newletter I produce. I have a fix for that though.

Good Printer, but Guzzles Ink
on December 16, 2010

We bought this printer to use for newsletters we send out. We were tired of taking them to printing shops for copying. We like the quality of the print, but we find that the copier guzzles ink. I'm not sure it's cost effective for us, even though we prefer to print the newsletters at home.
