GOOD BUT...

This a great item. I only have 2 problems.
1) Can't find the paper in Puerto Rico for an inkjet (everybody use laser here)
2) The tones are to dark.
(magenta print out in deep blue, cyan print in royal blue)If you can't fix this, you will have the best purchase ever.

WorkForce works well

This machine occupies quite a bit of real estate, but generates great printouts. To ensure color accuracy, I've found that it's best to always select photo paper (and, obviously, best print quality) in the set-up process, no matter what kind of paper I'm actually printing on. Printing 13 x 19 posters takes about as long as any other printer I've had (some were dedicated photo printers). The ability to print to the edges is a great feature; it just took me a little while to figure out that you select that option in the paper size menu. The prints come out in line with the paper edges--not askew, as they did from my previous printers. When printing on anything but plain paper, I feed one sheet at a time, because when I loaded 5 sheets of business cards in the tray, it grabbed all 5 and fed them through together. This caused some smudging to occur on the next few prints. This is the least expensive desktop printer that I've ever purchased, but it's one of the best I've owned. The inks dry quickly and don't smudge from handling. So far, the only down side I've encountered is that the ink cartridges run out faster than I had expected..

The print quality of the printer is very good. However, the sofware that comes with the printer leaves a lot to be desired. My previous Epson printer came wil Photo Impressions 6. This provided many feature that I am using but does not let me print with this printer. The Photo Impressions allowed two 5x7s to be printed on a letter size sheet. The software with this printer only allow one and it is centered on the page. This is a trmendous waste of paper.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for 12x12 scrapbook pages

I had been wanting a large format printer for more than a year and when I saw the Workforce 1100 at a great price, I went for it. I only use it for printing scrapbook pages and love the quality. The only thing I find challenging is determining how many pixels the height and width of a 12" x 12" page is for printing. It would be nice if this were automatically calculated based on the paper size.

I just installed the printer and tested in on a few real estate flyers and the printer performed very good. I will have to buy heavier paper due to the ink bleeding through on my regular print paper.

I really like my new printer. I use it to print Quilting and Embroidery designs which do not fit on the 8.5 x 11 size paper. This printer does a beautiful job.
