I needed a wide format printer for transparencies. I gambled on the 1100 in spite of my on line research and Epson's people saying that it is not compatible. Were they ever wrong! It does a fantastic job. Even though it doesn't have an option for transparencies I use the bright white paper setting and it works just fine. I think Epson should rewrite their software to include the transparency option and list it in the specs. Except for this omission it does everything that it is claimed to do and is a great value.

Love this printer!

Best quality with speed ever! Even draft prints beautifully, and sometimes better with pictures, as they are lighter than other settings. No manual which is not usually Epson's style.
I would recommend this to a friend!

1100 a great printer

If your looking for a printer that will print out Wide Format paper, this is the one. It's fast, quit and prints great pictures on picture paper. Epson doesn't load you with all kinds of downloads on their installation disk. The printer takes up some desk space but its well worth it to print out larger sizes.

Great Printer for large format paper

I have two Epson Printers. One is the Epson Artisan 710 and the newest one is the Epson 1100 WorkForce. I love both these printers for different reasons. The 710 has the built in scanner/copier and 6 ink cartridges for superior color rendition. The only drawback in that it has to wrap the paper around and that is hard when using heavywieght paper, which I use a lot of. The 1100 has the famous Epson Straight Through paper feed and works fine for heavywieght paper. Also the 710 has the built in print to disc and the 1100 does not. The 710 also has automatic double sided printing. I use both printers almost on a daily basis and find both of them to be excellent printers. Have not used the 1100 yet for the large format paper.

Heavy workload and performance guarantee the best

The Epson WorkForce 1100 Wide-format Printer Overall Design & Performance offers an excellent balance between quality and versatility. Need I have to say that I have been a constant Epson customer throughout the years since the Epson Stylus C40S Ink Jet Printer (my first printer ever). Today, I am a High School Desktop Publishing Teacher testing my students tabloid format printouts with this model. Once again, Epson proofs its reliability in the battle field, where it counts.

Second wide format printer

This new Workforse 1100 replaces my Styles R 1800. I must say it is as good as the 1800 in all respects. I use it to make look alike water paintings of flowers, animals, birds and many other nature oriented pictures. Most of my paintings hang on my friends walls. Most are matted and framed in 18x20 frames.

my header just about says it all---very durable---no frills-esthetically---but a hard worker--donig an excellent job----Wish I could clone this work horses reliability and work ethic--in doing the job right--and right now..Thanks Epson!
