13X44 format

I spent several hours working with the tech. dept. and we figured out how to do this. Word doesn't allow a paper greater than 22 inches long. Corel Draw does and I have Corel Draw but the key is any program that allows you to use a paper that can be user defined up to 12.95 X 44 inches. There isn't a roll attachment but you can feed the paper in by hand and then make sure that it doesn't jam and feeds true and free. Works but you need a little patience. The printer does what it says and does it with quality

Epson Workforce 1100 - well worth it!

I finally hooked up my new Epson Workforce 1100 after purchasing it on sale a few months ago. It does take up quite a bit of desk space (hence the delay it setting it up), but after using it, it is well worth the area needed. It is quick, clean, and efficient. The first thing I printed were certificates for my wife's class. They came out as pristine as the ones from last year, which I printed on my color laser printer. I am thoroughly impressed and cannot wait to try the easy photo print software that came with it.

I don't use anything else besides Epson printers

I use printers in a home business, and this is my 7th Epson printer during the last 10 years. Five are still in service. The printer I am replacing finally died. If it had been a car, it would have had over 400K miles. The print quality and colors on this new printer are fantastic, and wide-paper, too!

OK printer, but documentation lacking
on January 1, 2012

I purchased this printer for my daughter who is in Architecture at the college level and needs to print lots of large format printouts. I am pretty pleased with the printer. However, the user documentation is ONLY abailable as an HTML file on the Epson site. Is it really that expensive to provide a paper manual, or at least a PDF that users can download to look at at their leisure?
I expected better of Epson

hate it with all my heart

I got this printer a couple years ago because I needed the wide format paper. Loathe the day I ordered it. The print quality and speed is fine, what I expected. BUT for the first month or so I thought it was great until it ran out of ink. VERY expensive ink. I am not a heavy user (about 100 B&W pages and 15 color pages per month). I soon discovered that I was buying ink every 6 weeks or so. What a racket, at the price of their TINY ink cartridges they should pay me to use the machine. Additionally it spends an inordinate amount of time grinding it’s wheels every time you add ink, at least 5 minutes. Far to many hidden ink costs for this to be worthwhile.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WorkForce = workhorse

I chug hundreds of pages a week through this workhorse, including Super B paper (13x19) for posters. This is my second WorkForce 1100. The first one just wore out after about 4 years. Quality is consistent, maintenance is minimal.

Comments on Epson workforce 1100 Inkjet Printer

I have not been able to successfully register this product on line as the site kept telling me I hadn't filled in a particular question, which wasn't correct so I finally gave up.
Secondly, I have another Epson color printer where I am trying to use up the rest of the ink so have not installed the 1100 as yet. I did notice one thing about this printer that I didn't realize would be, and that is that it is so big. But, it was a good price and I like Epson, so I am sure I will find a spot for it and find that it will be as good and last as long as the last Epson I had.
