Good Picture - Bad Sound

The UN48J5000AFXZA has great picture quality and features. The sound quality is lacking. It's two speakers face downward (a design decision that I will never understand). There is nearly no low end, which can be expected with such small speakers, but more importantly the volume of the speakers are too low. Even with the volume set to 100% it is sometimes difficult to hear the dialog of movies. An extra volume boost of 35% would solve the problem. Apart from that the TV is a good investment, especially if you connect an external sound bar or have a home surround audio system.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: poor sound quality, only 2 hdmi inputs

This tv was great for the price plus it had everything I needed for features. The picture quality is great and would buy it again.

We actually replaced a 55" TV with this 48" TV and it's better than the TV we replaced.

Not only was the picture quality great but the price for the size (huge) was unbeatable. I'm definitely going to purchase another for our other rooms.

Great TV, Beautiful picture, Nice price. Worked perfect right out of the box.
Tuner is good and strong who needs cable when you have a TV this nice.
Sound is not what I would like it to be. I guess they want you to by a sound bar?

I can't imagine getting a better value. The picture quality is great, sound quality is very good, the TV is light weight, You are not going to find a better set for the price
