Beautiful Unit, Very Spacious, Ice Maker is a Dud

We really like the appearance of this refrigerator, both inside and out. The Fresh Food drawer is a very nice feature, particularly given how deep it is and how easily it rolls out to access everything in the drawer. No more hidden veggies in the back. The freezer design is excellent, probably the best design of any of the drawer style freezers.
The ice maker, however, is a dud. We just had our second ice maker go out, with each one lasting about 3 - 4 weeks. The first repair resulted in an entirely new refrigerator, with the ice maker lasting about 4 weeks. Another visit from the tech scheduled for this week. After reading other reviews of this unit, the ice maker issue is a recurring problem. Seems a long term fix is needed from Electrolux.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So happy i pruchased this aplliance. Everything works great and keeps my food fresh longer. Perfect temp draw keeps my cans of sodas at almost freezing tempurtures, which i love. Plenty of space for everything in the fridge as well as the freezer. Best quality fridge on the market hands down for the price. Dont go with cheap brands that are all entirely made of plastic in and out. This is completely stainless steel on all sides. Glass shelving in fridge and sturdy wire metal shelves in the freezer. Like i said, Electrolux is the only brand that offers such high quality materials. All other brands dont even compare or come close to this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Read all the reviews. Must agree this is a well designed machine, but nothing but problems with the ice maker. It has worked all of two months of the 12 months we have had it. Using my old one in the garage for ice. The freezer layout is wonderful. No more old missing freezer burned bags. Adjustable shelves are amazing.

Beautiful frig, great features, one design flaw. The water and ice station has a tendancy to leak and drips into what you would think would be some type of basin, but no, it leaks right onto the base of the water station. Why does it leak, because ice sometimes gets caught in the ice shoot and sits there and melts. Also the mechanism to operate the water station is very sensitive and it is hard to control the ice flow. It is also made of cheap plastic which after two months in service is totally scratched and looks terrible. Stainless steel or some type of metal should replace the scratched, inexspensive plastic. How can I get this eyesore resolved? For the price a little better design and quality could have gone into water/ice system. I am not happy with this important and very visible feature.

Ice maker is a Disaster

We have just had the 8th repair visit by dealer on this unit. It either does not make ice at all, freezes and thaws the ice causing puddles to freeze in the bottom of the ice maker which blocks the ice from exiting the unit, or thaws enough to leak down the back of the refrigerator and out the front filling up the dispenser depression. In addition, when it does operate normally for short times, it makes ice that is more like compressed slush with half the cooling qualities of regular ice. I am a retired engineer and this is the poorest execution of a Rube Goldberg design I have ever seen. While the basic refrigerator is well constructed and has some nice features, I would highly recommend you consider another manufacturer, or purchase a model with the ice maker in the freezer compartment.

Not worth it!

Although the refrigerator is attractive and appears to have desirable features, it is more problematic than any refrigerator I have ever owned. The shelves do not allow for large or deep platters. The ice maker seldom works and when it does, all that comes out is chipped ice. You can hear the refrigerator, ice maker, freezer running constantly...it's very noisy. It certainly is not worth the cost!
