Epson EX71 Projector

Just received it and had it set up within minutes. Very easy to set up and connect. I will be using this for PowerPoint presentations and it's not as awkward to use as I thought it would be. Had my presentation on the screen within minutes. I also purchased the Duet Ultra Portable projector screen. Also very easy to set up. It's a bit heavier than I thought but not impossible to lift. I'm 5'2" so for me using both hands and walking in flats to the car after a presentation should work.

Awesome projector!!!

I got this projector 2 years ago and still love it! It has an incredible picture and I am always very proud when I have someone over to check it out. Everyone seems to be awed by it. I have it on my wall displaying 165" screen and it is perfect. I'm glad that i did my research and made a great call. The plug-n- play is incredible as well.

The EX71 has fit my needs as an educator although I have not greatly used it yet. Easy to set up and clear picture. I have been satisfied with the unit.

Great projector!!!!!

We love this projector. We use it for office presentations and to project onto a 6 x 9 home screen from a DVD player and TV cable box. The picture is amazingly clear and the colors are fantastic. Have put 330 hours on the lamp with no noticeable decline in quality.
The ability to adjust the screen projection angle and the size of the image is a real plus. Allows you to project up at a screen from a close location or move it back to about 12' and project on a large screen.
We highly recommend this projector.

Working unreliably after less tha a year & a half

We were very happy when we first bought this product. Everything was working perfectly. Things started going wrong about a year after we bought it when the bulb died. We changed the bulb and sometimes it would turn on and function normally, other times it would refuse to produce an image and just start making an unhappy noise. We attributed it to the bulb and ordered a new one after doing all of the troubleshooting we could find out there on the internet. The new bulb has the same problem. It worked at first and then went to making that noise that sounds as though it's overheating or something. Additionally, it has started making this regular beeping noise whenever it's on that is very low pitched. My husband can barely hear it, but it drives me crazy.
We switched the new bulb with the old bulb and for the moment, at least, it's working. It's a shame, because we were so happy the first year or so after we had this, but now, I just want to get rid of it so that we can reliably have a working screen and I don't have to deal with that beeping noise anymore.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best entertainment value I ever bought

The EX71 projector puts 106 inch hi-def TV broadcast on my wall that is like having my own theater. I've had this projector for several months with over 1000 viewing hours with no gliches and no diminishing of picture quaity. I mounted mine on the ceiling and the space saved on the floor and wall makes house cleaning a snap. I had to paint the wall-no projector screen- a dark shade ( I chose dark cocoa) to receive the benefit of all the contrast this thing is capable of and use exterior speakers but that is it. The built in speaker is anemic but who is going to use a 3inch speaker for home theater. You just hook it to your cable box and your in business. Outstanding!

Love my Epson Projectors

Just got this Ex 71 and it is the back up to my refurb Presenter . Both are great projectors very bright and easy to use . The only drawback with both is that using my 120 inch screen is both have to be placed about 10 ft away or even using the Zoom or you have the image overlapping the screen ,so I have both stacked on a rollabout laptop cart like a bed side table and it works great using a bridge over the presenter . On the Ex 71 the remote is too small in size and in the keys compared to the Presenters remote wich will not operate the Ex-71 ,so other than that I cannot figure out why the bulb hour counter is not counting down even after 5 hours of use ,but I will contact Epson about it to see if it can be resolved !
