Not the best purchase ever

too bulky
the lens cover is not attachable.
When I sold this on the popular auction site II lost 110 dollars on this camera because so many people are selling it on that popular auction site as used.
you are stuck carrying this around your neck and it is not light.
sx210 rocks though
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, Flimsy Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a good camera it is in between point en shoot advance and DSLR but the problem is when go to manual button it is hard to focus adjusting the aperture and other function to be able take a excellent photo.hope in the future they will address this small problem,it is better if they put manual controls in the zooming lens just like in DSLR, or maybe they come up whit a new model with changeable lenses maybe....
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Heavy/Bulky

great pictures-not so great body

This camera takes great pictures. I love the fact that the viewer folds out and it has all the features I need for landscapes to faces. I was however disappointed in the sturdiness of the camera. As I have a tendency to drop the camera (out of cars, ski lifts, pockets, etc.) the ability of the camera body to take a bit of punishment is important.
I would recommend this to a friend!

needs flash on hot shoe

The camera takes great pictures, but needs a flash on the hot shoe to help bring out colors and help reduce or eliminate distrotion.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance

maybe if I was a photographer I would understand what's all going on every time this thing take a picture. I guess the good news there is that for the most part anything it shoots come's out in high quality. At first you read the manual and you end up more confused then before you started but then you shoot some video and forget all about any other issued you might of had....For a point and shoot the SX20 shoots super high end video ! I guess the idea that over a short amount of time I'm going to figure out everything the camera does and that has me taking pictures everyday with it!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Complicated controls/menu

Fantastic Camera

This was my first venture into something beyond a point and shoot camera. I found the SX20 to be everything I wanted plus. The basic auto mode has enabled me to take some unbelievable pictures. At my own pace I have begun to learn some of the many advanced techniques and settings. I have not had a single issue with this camera. The only thing I wish it had was a hard copy of the Camera User Guide. The SX20 is a great camera at an affordable price.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: needs a hard copy of user guide
