bouhgt the canonsx20 and glad of it .compared it to all the other superzooms.better feel, better looks..I have large hands and it fit way better than all the others, with finger resting on shutter button naturally.plus doesnt have that look of cheap plastic like the others.has been easy to use ,with really good pic.quality.oh when I say tried them all I MEAN ALL,EXCEPT THE SX1. The store didn't have one to compare.surely the same as the sx20 in feel
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance

I was taking quality photos with this camera within minutes of putting the batteries in it. I have spent at least 3 to 4 hours with the camera on setting and going through the features and have taken about 100 photos, and the batteries are still showing a full charge. I find it fairly easy to use. Even as a novice, the instructions are fairly easy to follow. I do however hate the fact that it does not come with a printed owners manual. Just the one on the disk. It has a small quick user guide that pretty much allows you to point and shoot only. It has lots of wonderful features, some of which I do not understand being a novice. In the hands of someone more experienced, it should provide quality photos and video. I was very happy with the quality of the zoom and how close I could pull in distant objects. So far, it is exactly what I was looking for and more. Example: Took a few pictures of a cardinal about 100 feet away. Took several at different zoom settings and then used the digital zoom fully extended, and was amazed that I could see the pupil in the eye of the cardinal and the individual fine feathers on his head.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, no printed manual

THE CANON SX20IS IS A TOTALLUY AWESOME CAMERA. I'M NOT A PRO BUT THIS CAMERA IS AN EXCELENT PURCHASE FOR THE PRICE. THE PICTURE QUALITY IS OUTSTANDING. I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT CANON AND WENT UP A STEP WHEN I GOT THE CANON SX20IS. THE DIFFERENT SETTINGS AND AUTO ZOOM ARE VERY GOOD FEATURES. THIS CAMERA HAS VERY GOOD FEATURES AND IS EASY ENOUGH TO USE. THE SIZE IS PERFECT FOR EVEN SMALLER HANDS. IT ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE THE CONTROL NECESSARY FOR TAKING GREAT PICTURES. THIS IS MY THIRD CANON AND I HAVE STEPPED UP WITH EACH PURCHASE. I TAKE AROUND 30,000 PICTURES A YEAR AS I TRAVEL ACROSS COUNTRY WITH WORK. CANON CAMERAS HAVE MADE ME A LOYAL CUSTOMER. I ACTUALLY SHOOT MY CAMERAS OUT. CANON WILL ALWAYS BE MY CAMERA OF CHOICE.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, great value for money

this is my first digital camera, and I love it. When I start to handle it, was easy, just with a speed-eye read to the manual, and I feel the easiness of use. The first set of photos I shot, was the fullmoon of december 30 2009. I get excited with the 80X zoom and I take a great picture of the moon. A few days later, in a trip to a place nearby my city, was the second oportunity to feel the power of my new toy, and the quality of the image of the pictures and the video are jut amazing, including the quality of the sound recorded in the video. As a graphic designer, the camera allowme to express my creativity from the very begenning of the idea. And let me tell you, everybody who has see "my toy" can´t believe it, not just by the way it look´s (like a pro camera), also by the price and the story behind the way I get it.... and offcourse, the great pictures it takes.

I've had this camera for a few days, and so far I'm amazed. For the price and the pictures I can take, it's well worth it. While looking at other camera stuff, a man even said he spent 1500 on his camera and got the Canon Powershot sx10 IS which he enjoys way more. Almost the same camera here, and shooting pictures of the moon and see the orators all I can say is WOOW!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life

EXCELLENT WITH BASIC UNDERSTANDINGS

When I first used the camera on the auto and indoor settings in a poorly-lit indoor environment using a freehand technique, my pictures were very blurry and dark. Once I understood and utilized recommended practices and understood the controls, my pictures in the same poor-lighting situation were Absolutely Beyond Crystal Clear ! This is the best advice you can receive for this camera: If using a freehand technique, take a wide stance with your feet, stabilize your arms against your body, hold your breath while taking the picture to eliminate camera shake, slowly press the button to take the picture down enough to check the focus, then continue to slowly press the button until the picture is taken. No Jerky movements. If you can use a tri-pod, USE IT as often as possible. You will achieve optimum picture quality more frequent with a tri-pod. Practice in poor-lighting settings and fast-motion like shower water running as they will be the hardest pictures to capture effectively. Learn when to juggle aperature, shutter speed and distance. Also, lighting and positioning is important as well. Practice identifying different lighting conditions so when you arrive to an event, you recognize what you are dealing with and take some practice photos to configure your settings to produce high quality photos before you are actually put in the position to capture moments. Learning the camera settings, basic photography principles and practices will make you a pretty good photographer for basic events like birthday, holiday, etc.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I had been looking at reviews for this camera for a while and finally went to look at it in a store. I don't like using manuals. If I can't figure it out, it's not worth it in my opinion. I had to ask for help once to get to the features but I also had only found it once on my husband's Canon. I had to look up info about the flash because I'm not use to ones you have to flip up. So far the camera is AMAZING! It's a bit heavy but the pictures are the best I've ever taken! I took a picture of the moon! You can see craters and everything!!!! It's also got super macro! You can literally be touching something and it will focus on it. The camera strap it comes with is kinda eh but it's free. It also has manual focus. If you're not sure about it, go check it out in a store and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, good battery life, durable, amazing zoom and macro!
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
