My husband and I were looking to upgrade our camera (we have a Canon PowerShot that is about 5 years old). We are not camera enthusiasts-we use are camera for everyday purposes-so we didn't want to make the jump to an SLR. Instead, we opted for the Canon PowerShot SX20 IS. It is a beast of a thing, yet sleek enough to still operate comfortably. It is a lot more camera than we are used to, but it has so many cool features and takes such beautiful pictures that it makes it all worth it. One of the main features that attracted us to it was it substantial zoom. Anyone who has ever owned a digital elph knows that the pictures are clear, but there is virtually no zoom capability. This model has a 20x zoom, and even at its max the pictures are crystal clear. Overall we are both happy with this camera and are looking forward to many years of capturing memories.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
This is an awesome camera. Easy to use. The best feature is it has the video maker on it. I needed a new digital camera and the price of this canon was resonable and itr was on sale. the picture quality is out of this world. I have taken about 300 pics. so far and they turn out everytime. I have had the camera for about 4 days. I would recommend it to anybody.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Excellent camera with all the features I wanted and excellent image quality.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Lightweight/Portable, flip out lcd, easy to customize
I am a freelance photographer of wildlife, plants and scenery. Before I purchased this camera I was using a 7 mp, 3x zoom digital camera and I could never get clear closeup shots. This camera is perfect for my kind of photography, the photos always come out crystal clear and beautiful, regardless of whether they are closeups or scenes miles away. I still haven't learned how to use half the features of this camera, but I am extremely pleased with the results I am getting.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
My second Canon digital camera and it has met all of my expectations. I was looking for a camera that would let me shoot in low light situations in gyms and etc,, where my grandchildren were participating in sports and school programs and this camera delivered.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
maybe if I was a photographer I would understand what's all going on every time this thing take a picture. I guess the good news there is that for the most part anything it shoots come's out in high quality. At first you read the manual and you end up more confused then before you started but then you shoot some video and forget all about any other issued you might of had....For a point and shoot the SX20 shoots super high end video ! I guess the idea that over a short amount of time I'm going to figure out everything the camera does and that has me taking pictures everyday with it!
This is the fourth camera I have owned and my third Canon. I have been taking pictures for a hobby for the past 20 years and have found this camera to be a very good camera. I take great pride in shooting great photos due to I take shots at ceremonies such as weddings, sweet 16s, etc. However, in order to shoot great photos one must practice utilizing all of the features and practice with different settings. I spent two whole days experimenting with the different settings and for a point and shoot camera I was impressed. For example, the flash can set from low, middle and high. That simple feature alone can make a difference, in addition to the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings. I highly recommend this camera for a point & shoot. However, like other Canons I have purchased, I would have preferred having the written manual instead of a CD so I can take the manual wherever I go.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
