I have had this camera for over a month now, and i love most all of the features ! The only thing i think canon needs to include on these type of cameras is the ability to accept filters! I like using an ultraviolet filter to improve picture quality and to protect the lens from dirt and damage. It is not impossible to put a filter on this camera, you just have to get creative. I secured a 58mm ultraviolet filter to it by using black electrical tape , taping it to the provided lens hood, which works quite nicely, but some threads would be a lot easier. I have not used all of it's features yet ,but the camera has excellent image quality, and seems quite durable. It also has very good battery live. I like the AA batteries because you can get them most anywhere. This is my 4th canon digital camera , all of them have been excellent! Keep it up canon. Thanks for your consistently great products !
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
This camera is a great value - takes beautiful pictures and is very easy to use. Only problem that I have is you cannot add any filters or additional lenses! Wish I had known this before purchasing - because I wouldn't have! My boyfriend is a surfer, and I was hoping to buy additional lenses, to take distance shots of him - but cannot.
Also, wish it had rechargable batteries - rather than just your regular AA batteries.
Other than that, the camera is wonderful!
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Very easy to use, excellent clear pictures, low light shots need additional lighting with flash. Camera has a slot to add another flash, plan on that in the future, for now I just turn on more lights. Love this camera.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, easy to use
I'm enjoying this camera a great deal. It's not a point and shoot camera, so if you want a camera that you can carry in your pocket and grab for a quick picture this one is not for you. If on the other hand your like me a fairly capable amateur who wants to be able to play around with settings and do some macro photo's this may be the camera your looking for. I'm using mine with a mac and iPhoto is doing a good job but I'm considering getting Aperture 3 for some extra capabilities. I've had good low light performance, I'm not sure why some are having problems with that. I use the automatic setting a lot but am having a lot of fun playing around with ISO and f stop settings. I really like the 2.5" articulated viewer on the back. It really help you get a shot without having to contort yourself to be able to see what the camera sees. The only criticism I have is for the for the flash; it's under powered. SO, for the most part I'm very satisfied with this camera
I used to own an S3. Given the advances that were made between the S1 to the S5, I expected a little more two generations later with the SX20. Overall it performs well, but is lacking a bit in low-light performance and flash photography is hit-and-miss. One feature I really miss is the Intervalometer -- why in the world would they eliminate it? It was a great tool for time-lapse photography that was present in the S3 (and I would guess the S5). I do like a lot of the changes in the button layout and menu organization, settings are easy to find and set.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
This is digital camera #3 for me. I'm still learning to use it but so far so good. To me just a little complicated on the advance menus and settings. Would prefer a hard copy owners manual. I love the zoom feature with this camera. Very good low light pics.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Bright LCD
Cons: lens cap needs inprovement to stay in place.
