I started using "smokeStop filter" about a month ago. I have allergies to mold, and had a unfortunate water leak in my lower level were fabric and paper boxes were stored. After drying it out thoroughly, we had to start moving things out, the mold spore filled the air, I started to react, so we turned on two classic 500 with the new filters and very quickly the air was much cleaner and my reaction got much much better within 24 hours. A friend who is allergic to cats visited about 10 days later and had no reaction at all, I have two cats. Here is a photo of one of the things that has mold.

I have been using the Smoke Stop Filter for 3-4 years. It is effective and extremely easy to install/replace. I would not use any other air purifier.

A Life Saver with Wood Stove Back Draft and Asthma

I have been rescued by these filters several times since I bought this air filter unit a few years back. Every now and then, there is a back draft, and smoke from the wood stove comes into the house. It's the dead of winter, and even the best of regular furnace filters can't handle it. Opening the window in that room is a last resort, letting frigid air into the center of the house, especially with tropical birds in the house. Only these filters, closing off as much of the rest of the house as possible, have rescued us from this nightmare. Consumer reports rated them #1 for total smoke removal, and I'm really glad I took their advice!! I would not be without these, and with asthma, it would be insane to do so.
