A great charger. Other reviews have mentioned that the design makes it fall out of the wall- not so! It is a problem with the wall socket if it falls out of the wall. This is the best cord I have ever had. It doesn't have the typical design flaws and weaknesses. It has its own cord storage design, and it is easily transportable. I have had it for 6 months and will buy another one any day.

Cord too short. Plug falls out of wall.

I didn't realize that this cord was half the size of my regular one and the plug flaps over and the weight causes it to constantly fall out of the wall. Not good for using in the cafe. I'm taking it back.

It Blew a fuse in my house!

This Targus Compact Laptop charger, blew the fuse in my dining room wall outlet due to something popping inside the charger itself! There is now a bump in the middle of the once smooth surface and it no longer works thanks to whatever broke. I definitely would not recommend something that lasts for about 4 months then blows a fuse in your home!
Pros: small size
Cons: blows fuses

Compact & Versatile

I read the review that the cord was to short. I have a 9 cell, 7 hour battery and the length of the cord makes no difference on the road. The product is versatile with all of my products and the multiple connectors are extremely useful. I highly recommend this charger.
Pros: compact, very versatile
Cons: i am frugal so price a little high

Worked great until it started Melting

Charger tips don't stay attached well, too loose to the point where it can't charge, Charger is beginning to melt on the inside of the tip preventing charging. Charger itself gets so hot it is a fire hazard.
Pros: good size extra tip for usb
Cons: gets way to hot melts over time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My absolute favorite travel gadget

I bought this laptop charger because I left mine at a customer's accidentally and needed another one ASAP. I've had it 2-3 yrs and came to the website today to see about buying another one - when I read some of the less-than-glowing reviews I had to offer my two cents. This is my absolute favorite travel gadget because it can charge my laptop and my cell phone at the same time. I didn't even realize that when I bought it, but that is the best part about it! I plug it into a wall outlet then plug one tip into my laptop and the other into my cell phone - no more remembering to bring my cell phone charger with me, having to find two plugs, etc. Handy, handy, handy!! I've had no problems with the tips becoming loose - they work after several years just like the day I bought it. My only problem has been that the plastic covering on the cord somehow became frayed (maybe from being twisted up too long in my laptop bag) so it sparked the last time I plugged it in - but I think some electrical tape will solve that nicely. If/when it finally wears out for good I will absolutely buy another one - love it, Targus!
Pros: charges laptop and phone at the same time!

Durable

I have had one of these for just over a year, and am surprised by the reviews I see. I suspect that many who say the tips become loose and won't work right are actually having issues with their PC. I had a notebook that had issues with the power socket coming un-soldered after a while, and it exhibited exactly this behavior. Some chargers (because their tips seemed a bit "tighter" in the opening) worked better than others.
As for this charger, I can't count the number of times I've accidentally stepped on the cord and picked up the PC, basically ripping the tip off the charger. It took an entire year of this abuse before one of the tips quit working. The only issue I've had with the charger has been that it gets very hot, but then my notebook is a power hog, and even the stock charger gets really hot.
Pros: durability, small size, charge two devices at once, tips come off the charger protecting the notebook
Cons: overheats with high-power notebook

IF it died, I'm buy another, but it hasn't in 2 yr

It has powered a Toshiba 17" Satellite i7 pwr hog 150+ hrs/yr for 2 years. Factory charger stays at office, this one comes out every night at home and goes on the road. Only con is power cord could be longer, otherwise I'd give a 5. Targus should offer a 3-5' "extension cord" for one of the tips. The polarity independent transformer plugs allow you to fit it in nearly any socket, and when laid flat against a wall socket it won't try to "pull" itself out like other transformer/plug models. Thanks to all included tips, it's been borrowed often at the office, Dell, HP, etc. Today I'm ordering a tip for new Samsung. The old Toshiba's being passed down, but not this charger!
Pros: polarity independent plug, included tips for most laptops, split cable powers any usb charged devic, ample power for desktop replacement laptops, it works others failed on same laptop
