Received this product as a replacement of previously broken console. Uppon receiving new console I was happy but shortly after using it the screen has started acting up ( going black with only a little white circle in center.) We are upset that this brand new console could come defected, will call about replacement.

Leap pad custom edition isn't as good as previous edition I don't like the fact the it runs off double AA batteries it is very expensive to have to keep purchasing batteries for this device the regular leap pad 2 has a wall charger and rechargeable batteries included major disappointment with this leap pad not worth the price stick to the leap pad with wall charger!
Pros: Educational

Great product and good encouragement for learning. Only complaint is that there was no charger cable in box. I will be ordering a separate charger.

Educational product for younger children

My son received his first leap pad after Christmas last year and he has continuously used it. Even though they are games and is considered an electronic device, he is still learning while playing with his aloted time for the week. I'm glad out of all the tablets and learning devices that I picked Leap Frog.
Pros: Educational, Good for on-the-go play, Fun for kids

My daughter loves her tablet. She is learning and having fun playing a game. I would rather her play on her leap pad over an ipad or ipod. The leap pad allows parent to control what they are playing.
Pros: Educational, Good for on-the-go play, Fun for kids, Grows with child

Good Tool
on December 6, 2014

The LeapPad is a fun tool for any child my son loves his and always has it with him, my only problem though is it's recommended for children 3-9 and my son is three, the letter tracing in the pet pad is a bit unreasonable for a three year old and what I mean is that some of the letters have to be traced in a continuous line now I have no doubt that there are some three year olds who might be able to do this but mine can't and for some reason when he picks up the tablet that's the first thing he goes for and it frustrates him when he's trying to trace a letter and it goes of the line and then he hears the sound which lets him know he made a mistake and eventually he'll start crying in frustration so I felt the makers of the tablet should have designed it in a way that as the child grows the letter tracing becomes more difficult and for the smaller children the tracing should be one line at a time, I understand it's to help develop their skills but you don't start a child doing letter trace like that. Some of the words that are spelt with the individual letters are difficult too for example the word for letter "E" is electric.
Pros: Fun for kids

My son loves his LeapPad and takes it almost everywhere. What makes this work is the large library of learning apps. with different themes to choose from. It makes learning fun for him.
Pros: Educational, Good for on-the-go play, Fun for kids, Grows with child
