Constantly breaking parts, but love it when it works

It's like a European car, great ideas, love it when it works, but breaks down all the time! Seems like the majority of the problems are coming from items getting out of the basket, and lodging them selves in the oddest places. I think it happens during the spin cycle, but hard to say. Bad design flaw, leaves me emptying a full washer of wet clothes, and making a repair before I can finish. Luckily, because this model has so many problems, lots of other people have already had the same problems, and information on fixing and diagnosing is all over the internet. Before this washer I believed exclusively in Maytag products, and as an installer at a plumbing company I have seen a lot of models, and worked on them as well. But after owning this model, and reading how many other people had the same problems, with the same results, I have lost faith in Maytag and their products.

Do Not Purchase this machine!!!!

I hate this machine. It tears the clothes, creates wrinkles that I cannot iron out, and many loads do not use enough water to get the clothes clean. The lid will not stay open to load the clothes. Many, many, problems!!! The finish is pealing on the outside from detergent leaking through from the inside.

Not a fan of the top loader.

. I am nearly 60 years old and have owned several washer styles over the years. This is my first large capacity top loader without an agitator. The washer I owned immediately prior to the Maytag was an Electrolux front loader and its washing performance was good but it became frequently clogged (lint, etc.). The process of cleaning the pump screen was less than simple and this experience caused me to consider other washer styles when making my last purchase. The Electrolux front loader was ultimately removed from service due to a costly repair estimate for a failed computer board. The major issue I have with the Maytag Bravo is the ?balling up? of sheets and blankets which makes the top loader less than desirable. I purchased this large capacity machine because it was presented as product / design able to effectively wash large items like sheets and blankets. It falls short in this area. I will more than likely purchase a Maytag again but will return to the front loading style, which from my perspective performs better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this washer for nearly 10 years and it continues to perform as when we bought it.
