Not Designed Well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Parts of the display started to quit functioning after a few months of normal use. Two years later, the magnetron tube literally blew up and it no longer heats up. I previously had microwave ovens last up to five years. Also, it was not very quiet during operation. Not a good appliance for the price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Faulty Microwave / Avoid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this microwave two years ago when we remodeled kitchen, and now have to replace it. Wife put a pyrex dish (completely microwave safe) in, turned it on, and heard sharp electrical cracking, smelled ozone. Microwave now fails to cook food and there is a strange noise when power is on. All signs point to magnetron being busted. Should not have this problem in a 24 month old product. Magnetron can be replaced, but at 80% the cost (plus labor) of a new microwave, we will not be servicing this item.
Beyond just faulty electronics, this product was plain annoying. When done cooking, it would beep (OK, that's good). But then would continue beeping every 10 seconds until the door was opened. Very annoying to have since it would disturb everyone. Throw something in the mic and move on to other tasks (or just step away)? Nope, it required you to deal with it or it would keep chirping at you until you do. It earned the nickname "Mr. Beepy" in our kitchen.
The fan intake was also pretty weak. It was not able to significantly handle steam rising off a pasta pot below it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
