Wish there was a 40" or 42" version.

I bought this to place it on the bottom track of a Gearloft shelf install. I really, really, really, wish they made a 40" or 42" version of the sold shelf as it would fit perfectly. I have the track installed across 5 studs so I am not too worried about the weight. I will be putting light stuff anyhow.

Good System-- Don't stand the test of time....

If your brand is gladiator, it puts a lot of pressure on you to make products that are super tough. Unfortunately, these metal shelfs only have a very thin layer of paint protecting them from doom. If there's any spot that gets nicked and there's a penetration point for air and moisture-- your shelf is toast. The top of this one started rusting so I put something over it, but as you can see—it eventually leads to complete failure. I was going to scrap and repaint it, but I’m not sure it’s worth it at this point. These shelves, especially considering they are going to be used in garages, should be made from some other material—perhaps aluminum or stainless—something that won’t rust.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
