Brother comes through again

I decided to buy an extra sewing machine since I had started teaching sewing lessons in my home and some of the students didn't have a machine. After looking at several different types and brands, I decided on this one, and because of the price, I bought two of this model instead.
Since I already have a Brother sewing/embroidery machine and haven't ever had a bit a trouble with it, I knew that it would be a good buy.
However, I was wrong. It was a GREAT buy! This little guy will sew like nobody's business and is easy to use, change stitches and everything you could ever ask for from a machine.
The only thing that I don't really enjoy from this is that the free arm/storage box isn't enclosed so that the accessory pack could get lost if there are little ones around, like at my house. Other than that, I would recommend this machine not only for beginning seamstresses but for anyone. It's lightweight and easily moved.
I just can't say enough wonderful things about this model, especially since my sewing students have been using it weekly for 2 months and I have been using it in the interim due to my "old faithful" machine going out on me. This is a very wise buy, I can't recommend it enough.

I just received my machine for my birthday. It is easy to use for a beginner. The only trouble is learning to use the needle threader. My eye sight is good but I have a hard time doing the loops around the 2 hooks and slipping the thread out of the loop of thread that goes through the needle. Can you give me suggestions for making it easier for less nimble fingers of mine ?

Overall, this is a fairly decent sewing machine for beginners. My eyesight is not as good as it once was so I especially like the feature which assists in threading the machine! It is easy to set it up, and bobbin winding is wonderful. What I do not like about this machine is the food pedal: it moves around while I'm sewing. That may not be a problem if one is sewing in a room with carpeting or a rug, but it does cause problems in a room with linoleum flooring.

It has taken me many years to stop being afraid of sewing machines. I am a 46yo male and felt that since I have only ever known how to sew by hand, it was time to buy a sewing machine. I haven't used it for all it can do, but as a beginner, I learned very quickly how to fix and repair all these apparel projects that have been needing repair for a long time and it was surprisingly easier than I had imagined and it's all because this machine is awesome to use. It is very user friendly and since this was my first time ever using a sewing machine, I quickly caught on and I cannot wait to learn all of it's awesome features! I would recommend this to beginners as it has been a godsend, I went online and watched some videos of how to thread and how to start, and within 20 minutes, I was up and already sewing. You will be very happy with this purchase, I know I am. Thank you for creating a machine that wasn't intimidating for a newbie.

great machine for the price

I am not an advanced sewer, so I found this sewing machine exceeded my needs. Instructions were easy to follow. The needle threader is wonderful. The machine sews smoothly. The Machine is light weight and east to carry. I now enjoy sewing a lot more.

Never used a sewing machine in my life,I am 72.
Had this up and running and made curtains for my camper,myself in no time.
Needle threading was automatic and wound several bobbins.
Nice machine,love it.
