I dont like how the power cord is set up. I have problems when trying to stand the mixer up the cord gets in the way n the mixer falls over. It has knocked over the bowl making a huge mess.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A touch awkward to grasp for a person with arthritis in the hands. The beater release button is oddly placed. Otherwise, it is of the usual Cuisinart quality.

After researching hand mixers, I chose this mixer because it seemed like a decent mixer that wasn't really expensive. As other reviewers have noted, it does spray the contents of the bowl all over on low speed if the beaters aren't held out of the bowl until it slows down after its original blast of power. Once in the bowl, the mixer worked well to blend on slow speed and to whip egg whites into stiff peaks using the higher speeds. It seems quite powerful and doesn't bog down when mixing stiff things. The only complaint I have is that it is very loud. I feel like I need ear plugs when using it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Power Advantage hand mixer works alright most of the time, but I don’t like the “automatic feedback” from the motor. There’s been multiple times when I end up with a shower of powdered sugar or flour on the counter because the motor decided to give a burst of speed at a bad time.
The motor also went bad on me after about two years of normal use, but thankfully Cuisinart has a good warranty, and sent me a new one.
Bottom line: if you don’t bake all the time and just want to have a mixer on hand, this is probably a good choice. If you plan to do a lot of baking, invest in something nicer.

Strong mixer works well for mixing sourdough bread

At our house, we almost always eat home made sourdough bread made with mostly whole wheat flour, often with a bit of white flour and other grains mixed in. So when my large mixer bit the dust, making bread became more difficult. First I shopped for a new large mixer. But as I noticed how nice it was to have more counter space without a great big heavy mixer sitting there, I looked at smaller, hand mixers. I needed one that had a powerful motor, but that would start slowly, so as not to shoot flour and other ingredients out of the bowl in which I was mixing. After many days of research, I picked this one by Cuisinart. Reading many reviews, I found that this one had fewer difficulties listed. and more advantages. Now that I have used it for mixing sourdough, I'm really glad I did. The dough hooks have a much better design than other hand mixers, and that plus the power of the motor make this mixer take on the job of mixing sourdough almost as well as my old stand mixer did.
