I know this will sound strange, but this mixer is a little too powerful. The lowest speed is not low enough. Sometimes you want more of a “stir” speed. Other than that, I really like the beaters with no center post and the way the electric cord can pivot.

I had an old hand mixer that I'd been given 59 years ago that died. It had only 3 speeds; slow, medium and fast. I thought wow 5 speeds that sounds great. But the 5 speeds are fast, faster, even faster, even more fast and fastest. When trying to beat egg whites or cream the liquid splatters all around.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
