I bought this to replace an ancient wonderful old stand mixer that finally bit the dust. I have no room or need for such a big one, but I have unhappy memories of several old hand mixers that precede it years ago. I was very pleasantly surprised by the solidness and heft of the this mixer, despite its light weight. I'm very sarisfied, as I have been by the small food processor I bought some time ago .
