After looking at one of the local electronics stores for a wireless lan card and being turned off by their price, I called HP and the support person I spoke with recommended this Linksys dual-band card. Not only was it easy to install and set up, but it was also discounted. Even their list price was half what the electronics store wanted for theirs, plus they did not stock this card and it would have to be ordered. Thanks HP!

Linksys WMP600N Wireless-N PCI Adapter with Dual-B

Before acquiring this adapter I had bought TWO routers attempting to connect to my modem (I had recently changed cable providers). The modem had to be placed in a room on the opposite side of my house (not more than 20 feet away). My computer refused to have a signal higher than a dot on the network meter. I tried numerous times to boost the signal from the PC to the modem and use the routers to bridge the gap, but neither one of them would ever connect to the modem. The meter would show all five bars lit up through the router, but I could never acquire a connection with them. I changed the channel on the modem which would work for about five minutes - the meter would show two or three bars, then drop back to the dot. On a hunch, I bought the adapter, installed it (very easy to do) and low and behold!! I had FOUR bars!! My computer is faster and I'm happier. Thanks to HP and Linksys for the adapter.

The Adapter was easy and quick to install. I have a small form factor HP Desktop and had to replace the standard bracket with the inclosed SFF bracket which took less than five minutes. It took another five mnutes to insert the board into a available PCI slot. Easy to follow instructions with the "Quick Installation Guide." All the wireless connections worked great after the installation.
