Smart design and thorough

We are very pleased with this refrigerator. We traditionally chose a side-by-side for our refrigerator design but decided to switch to the french-door style in hopes of making up for some annoyances the side-by-side offers. Our primary complaint with the side-by-side is that we would always have to move items around or pull some out to get to other items in the back. Since the french-door LG refrigerator has two doors at the top, access to your grocery items is much easier. The lighting (LED) is bright and doesn't provide the problematic shadow areas that some side-by-sides include. We also like the ice maker that is integral with the door for the LG french-door ... definately a space saver but still allows you to get both ice (crushed or cubed) and water. The count-down clock (in months) is also a nice touch so you can actually plan ahead and get a replacement water filter. Other models simply have a light that comes on or a light that provides you very little warning. This unit is also very quiet (an absolute necessity for a refrigerator). If you have seen complaints before about the noise of this refrigerator, check the model numbers. An older french-door style version did have an issue with their compressor, however, this issue does not exist in the LFX25975ST. Finally, you may still be wondering about the details that makes the LG a better choice. Here are two for consideration. First, check the seals in between the top two doors. These simply flex when you close the refrigerator to form a tight seal. Compare this to the door seal on other brands and you will notice that they include a plastic/metal bar that extends when the door is closed and retracts when the door is open. LG didn't use this mechanism in their door design since the "bar" type can be problematic. When the bar is extended, it can also limit your access to the refrigerator. The LG's design is trouble-free and easier to clean. Finally, LG even included a rubber strip at the bottom of the refrigerator to prevent lint, dust, and pet hair from getting under the refrigerator which potentially clogs the evaporator coils. The rubber strip doesn't eliminate all dust, but helps minimize the amount that gets trapped under your refrigerator. Ask yourself, "How much fun do I have when I have to vacuum out the coils in my refrigerator?" That is attention to detail.
My only con, is that the temperature display reflects the temperature you want the refrigerator/freezer to be set to ... it does not reflect the actual temperatures. This would be a nice feature to see in future models but is the only con we can come up with.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design

We like the refrigerator, especially the ice and water on the door. We also like the separate freshness drawers. The downfall about the appliance is the stainless steel is very hard to keep clean. Everything shows up on it, even water spots and it is a bear to clean up.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design
Cons: difficult to clean the outside

Good But Not Great

It is very spacious for its size compared to the similarly sized side-by-side it replaced. Our only complaints are the french doors are difficult to open and the ice dispenser gives a mixture of cubed and crushed ice eventhough "cube" is selected.
We love this refrigerator. The LED lighting is great and the inside has plenty of space with the sliding shelves. The freezer on bottom works great for our family. The kids can easily reach in for popsicles without them falling in their face like a traditional side by side. The only drawback is the ice maker on the door is sluggish to dispense ice all the time. I like that it is on the door to give you more shelf space, but the ice comes out so slow. Overall it is a great appliance and has a very attractive design. The lighting on the ice maker at night looks so pretty. I would buy more LG products.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Style/Design
Cons: sluggish ice maker

We made an excellent purchase

We bought our refrigerator about 3 months ago and believe it was a very smart choice. Since we tend to (over?) analyze and evaluate every aspect of large purchases, by the time we finally chose this brand and model we were confident we had done our homework. We were able to make an informed decision. Right away we noticed it was extremely quiet. (Our old model was so noisy, it would sometimes startle our guests when it came on!) The easy access is another feature we appreciated immediately. Everything is right in front of you and easy to see because of the bright LED lighting. Even the freezer is well designed. The upper rack puts everything in reach without having to dig down to the bottom of the drawer, as in our old model. The dispensers on the door are another big plus, in fact they were the deciding factor in choosing this model. Tall glasses and pitchers are no problem to fill. The only negative we can think of is the stainless finish, as it is 'fussier' to keep shiny, according to my 'neatnik spouse.' We discovered some stainless steel wipes which do the trick, now Neatnik is totally happy, too!

We bougth this product on looks, finish, features and price. Got it home and within 3 days the ice & water dispenser compartment started to sweat and drip. After several attempts by LG to repair the unit, LG replaced it under warranty and redeemed itself in the process! AND the fridge is cured! We love the replacement as much as we did the first one. Great lighting, top and bottom, Easy open doors, great finish, features. All the reasons why we chose the first unit. We wanted LG to work with us on the issue and they did~.

I recently moved and needed a new refrigerator. I researched on line and decided I wanted an LG French 4 door model in stainless steel. I purchased from Sears who had the cheapest price and I absolutely love this refrigerator. I am preparing for Christmas so I am really using the freezer storage and I like that it is located at the bottom. One reason I choose this model was because the water and ice dispenser is large so I can fill a pitcher with ice instead of just a glass. Great refrigerator!!

Space Issues

We bought this refrigerator a few months back. I was set on a bottom freezer and I liked the eaze of having ice and water outside the door. However, the ice and water are somewhat hard to use without making a mess. The water dispenser is touchy and sits out so that it virtually impossible to not splatter. The inside of the refridge is hard to organize. There is very little door storage space as compared to a side-by side. Almost the entire left side is taken up with the ice and water dispenser. It is difficult to organize shelves so that you can get to items easily and only a few tall items can fit in. We are still struggling on where to stand up an open wine bottle.
