Made Perfect Choice

My wife and I did alot of research and decided on this Grand selection. Connected our Samsung Entertainment System up and we have our own Home Theater. The picture quality is more than I could have imagined and the remote is so easy to navigate. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Great Value for the Money

I was able to purchase this TV on Black Friday as a special deal and it turns I got more than I bargained for. I purchased this LCD based on our previous ownership of a 40" Samsung. That TV s headed into the family room now. The picture quality is even brighter and sharper than the previous set. I love the added features and fast response time. Sports programs never looked better. Video games look amazing and DVD's so real and intense. I would most definitely recommend this TV to anyone looking for a great TV at a great Value. This is the second Samsung I have purchased and I can honestly say I will never purchase any other brand after being more than satisfied with both my Samsungs.

More than capable TV, especially for the price

Went to store with my wife to pick out a new TV after the logic board in my DLP failed.
I was prepared to buy a 60Hz model, but my wife decided that the 120Hz looked much better, and was undeterred by my explanation that the cheaper TV looked like it was just badly calibrated. At any rate, we bought this one, and are very happy.
The design itself is very nice, and we like it better than the red ToC models. The glossy finish does pick up fingerprints and dust, so we use the included dust cloth frequently.
Screen is bright enough that we don't notice much or any glare on the glossy screen.
I've set automotion to low, which seems to work pretty well. Any higher setting and films have a surreal quality as if they were shot on videotape (this is hard to describe). Low still has a marked improvement in fast motion.
Cons:
It was difficult to calibrate the picture acceptably. The settings are plentiful, and the blue only mode is very useful for color calibration, but getting brightness and contrast right required much manipulation. Out of the box the TV is set entirely too bright, and has a slightly red hue (at least mine did).
Why can't Samsung have a single button toggle to mute the speakers without leaving a mute on screen message up permanently? The mute internal speakers option through the menu works acceptably, but I can't program that on my multi-function remote control easily, without programming the remote to dive into the menu options, but that's a pain.

I got this and the Blue Ray player and I could not believe how everything looked. Cable, DVD and Blue Ray discs looked amazing!! Monsters Inc movie looks 3D.

great TV

This is my first flat screen and my first HDTV. As someone who has worked in the television and video production industry for over 25 years, I think the picture quality and features are terrific, especially for the price. Being that I am into high end audio and have also worked as a professional musician I do find that the built in speaker performance could be better for music but is adequate for watching regular programs. I have connected the audio of the set to my audio system and find the sound quality to be very good. I would buy this set again.

Great HDTV

I researched hdtv's for about 3 weeks
and decided samsung was my best bet
I think the picture is outstanding.
The sound is great.
Though It has only been a week.

I bought this tv the other day and its great it is my second 46 " Samsung lcd and they keep just out doing themselves. the picture quality is great its like your on the movie set. if you are going to by an lcd make sure you buy a samsung and spend the extra money to get a 120 hz model or a 6 series it is well worth it the five series is good but the six series is excellent. I would recommend this to everyone
