bought the two cartridges this year and last year bought the color now my printer broke and I have these expensive cartridges and cant buy a printer to fit them

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using hp toner for some time and have never had a problem. Friends have tried"compatible" cartridges and had a variety of issues. We will stick with genuine hp products.

I had to replace the "compatible" 305 black toner cartridge with the HP original cartridge because the "compatible" one was printing black horizontal lines across the entire sheet of paper when I was really only printing in color (labels with orange and green print). When I replaced the "compatible" cartridge with the original HP one, I didn't see one black line on the paper. I am all about saving money when I can; however, I am convinced that "compatible do not work in my printer - or at least I haven't found the right manufacturer. It would be nice if HP would offer better deals on 305 toner cartridges (black and color) since they are so expensive! I pay more for 4 cartridges than I paid for the printer itself!

Unlike the color cartridges, when I had to replace the black cartridge, I had printed a substantial number of pages, possibly close to the nominal 1200 or so. The order came quickly and the print quality is good.
