Got this unit as a gift for Xmas. I have an old single sandwich maker. I am ready for an upgrade. The surface of my okd one is starting to flake off anyway.

A direct improvement over the 25430 model in almost every way. It has double the space, protection against spillage with ridges along the bottom edges, a higher quality finish on all non-stick surfaces, a built-in clock, and it heats up faster. If you're debating whether to upgrade, its WELL worth the investment in my opinion.
- From a customer who's made at least 300 egg sandwiches with the 25430 model and plans to make 1,000+ with the 25490
