Perfect.

We got the purio for my 7 year old daughter, who was recently diagnosed with a mold allergy. She picked this one because she loved the color and the nightlight feature. As a family, it was the right choice for us because the control locking keeps my 3 year old from playing with the buttons. Since we started using it, she is no longer suffering with the constant allergy symptoms that were causing her everything from swollen eyes to pre-pneumonia.
Pros: Easy To Use, Effective, Quiet

I was skeptical when my husband picked this out when we were expecting.. Two years later now I wish I would have bought two more! This is the best heap filter and is so quiet and easy to use! Plus the bonus of it being designed to deter little curious fingers and locking controls! This thing has it all!

Best Customer Service and LOVE my Purio

I've had the best experience with Vornadobaby! (I am not a paid reviewer, just a regular customer that is completely happy with the customer service at Vornadobaby.) I am a big fan of the Purio. I have actually purchased two of them because I have proof that it works well to remove toxins from the air so I now have one in our room as well as our toddlers. When I got my first Purio we were in an apartment and the fireplace made the entire apartment smell horrific. Everything smelled bad except my infants room thanks to Purio!! My husband and I stayed in my daughters room until the apartment complex could get someone out to clean the chimney. The air in her room was so clean and clear! The rest of the apartment had smoke that was so thick it was actually visible and hard to breathe. Two years later my original Purio stopped working and I emailed the customer support. Rhonda was extremely helpful and sent us a new one immediately. She had us cut the cord on the old one and send in photos which was much better then having to pay for shipping and sending it back to get a new one. I was blown away by how great the customer service was. I will be buying a third Purio for our guest room specifically because the customer service was so good and it's a wonderful product. I recommend these for anyone having a new baby!

Wish I'd bought this for my first 2 children

I dislike using a diaper genie, so the baby room was always a bit strong smelling whenever we opened the fliptop trashcan. The baby is in a smaller 10x10 room that stays a little musty with keeping the door closed more due to cats. I finally found this product and love it. I keep it on and the room is not musty anymore and I don't notice the diaper smell except for a second when dropping a diaper in the trash. If you don't have a diaper genie and don't want to leave this on all day, just turn it on before you change the diaper and open the trash and keep it on a short while after. Does the job for eliminating the smell. Some people may love that it gives a white noise sound with the fan and can be a light night light if you wish. I'm sad I only found this product with my last child, but I know we'll be using it even after my baby is out of diapers for purifying the air when the room is a bit musty. It's really baby safe which is what sold me on the product. I love that you can hide as much cord as you wish and the baby can touch the fan area and be safe. After a year and a half, it's only now asking for the carbon to be changed. I have not changed the hepa filter. I use this product almost 24/7. Much happier that I purchased this to cleanse all of the room's air instead of a diaper genie which just tries to bottle away the diaper smell.

Really effective Air Purifier

This is my first Purifier so I wont be able to compare it with other purifiers but based on my experience its really effective. With the short time frame of use I can at least say that it you can feel the clean air that it provides and so far it has kept us away from allergies which is good. The unit is portable with well placed controls. It feels to be of high quality. I will keep continue using it specifically with the fall season coming up. I would recommend this without any doubt.

I wish I had a way to compare air quality Before vs After

Pros: Very easy to use! And I like the different features besides just the air purification. I LOVE the high-medium-low fan options (we always have a fan on in my kids' room anyway because my baby sleeps better with the background noise). We can use this instead and get rid of the fan! I also LOVE the night glow option -- it emits just enough light to illuminate the floor a little bit, helping me to not trip in the night when walking to the crib, but not enough that it is distracting to the kids as they sleep. I was able to get rid of the night light too! Also, they have made this so that even though it sits on the floor (and of course, all the kids have to touch it), they can't put their fingers into anything dangerous. The front cover to the filters is kind of difficult to get off, but I consider that more of a pro than a con considering it also makes it hard for kids to open it! Cons: I mean, I don't think there really are any cons per se. When I first got the machine, I wanted to try it out in a room that has some sort of leftover smell from the previous tenants (my husband thinks it's incense, but I think it just smells like old, musty books.) The machine advertised helping to get rid of cooking smells, etc, so I was hoping this would help with that too. We left it on high in that room with the door closed for at least 24 hours, and I honestly didn't notice much a difference. I don't know if it needed more time, or if that wasn't really a fair trial because the odor is probably soaked into the walls and carpet as opposed to the actual air. So I moved it into the kids' room for trial #2. We have had horrible air quality because of fires in the area, so I wanted it to help keep the kids' room free of the smoke. I think it really did make a difference. I at least slept better knowing they weren't breathing in as much smoky air. Overall, though, I probably wouldn't pay full price for this machine honestly.

Great buy, even for big babies

I got this for myself. My apartment used forced air and I could tell I had more hives and respiratory signs than usual. I picked up the purifier and kept it by my bed. Doubled as a night light which was cute, I could see my slippers on the floor instead of shuffle to find them. However replacing the filter is a total drag. It's also expensive. Wish I could take to my office because the air there too causes me problems.
Pros: Effective, Gentle, Quiet
Cons: Expensive HEPA filter replacements

Easy To Use

This air purifier was easy to set up right out of the box. The instruction manual was clear and easy to understand. The air purifier was easy to lift and move. It was also small enough to fit in my daughter's room without taking up too much space. I love the locking feature and also the covered power cord storage. My daughter is a curious toddler, who gets into everything so it was nice to know I wouldn't have to worry about her getting hurt when using this air purifier. This air purifier seems sturdy and should last a long time. I haven't had to change the Carbon Filter or the HEPA Filter yet, but I did open up the compartments where the filters are located so I could practice changing out the filters to see how it would work. The filters are easy to remove and replace so I have no concerns with that. According to the manual the Carbon Filter has to be replaced after 4,000 hours of use and the HEPA Filter after 9,000 hours of use so it sounds like the filters will last a long time, which I like because I don't want to have to spend a lot of money on these filters or be bothered with ordering replacements often. I also noted that in the manual there was mention of an automatic refill program for the filters, which seems very convenient. The night glow feature works like a dim nightlight and didn't disturb my daughter at all while she slept. As far as the fan is concerned, the high speed setting is very powerful and Is the setting I use most of the time. The air purifier is a bit noisy when set to the high speed and it took a few nights for my daughter to get used to the sound. On the medium and low speed settings the fan wasn't powerful enough, especially on the low setting where the fan seemed to barely run at all. The air purifier is nice and quiet at the low speed setting, but the fan is too weak so I had to keep it running at the highest speed. This is the first air purifier we've tried and so far we're happy with it.
