Ice maker issues

We got this fridge in the purchase of our home and it has been great... until the ice maker door panel mount broke and the part apparently is not available anymore (mount is connected to back plate, terrible design). The freezer is not remaining sealed due to the ice maker door not staying in place. Right now we have it wedged in place but this will not hold and I do not want to replace the fridge because of something so tiny and stupid. Surely there is some kind of repair kit out there for this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When I bought this refrigeration I have to admit, I went with the cheapest one I could get that matched all of the other appliances, so I didn't do much research other than I wanted to hit a certain price point, and this one did. With that in mind, I have been very satisfied with the refrigerator! It is whisper quiet (except when it does its auto-defrosting every once in a while for a few seconds), looks good and I haven't had any issues after 3-4 years! I do have a couple complaints, the water dispensor / ice maker is black plastic and tends to get stained pretty easy and is kind-of cheap looking up close. Interior is great though!

I purchased this refrigerator about 10 years ago when I bought my new home. I am experiencing the fridge and the freezer being warm and came home to water on the floor this week. i was thinking 10 years isn't the average lifetime of a new appliance and was hoping to find some answers here on whether to fix or replace. I need and,want at least another 4 years.

OK Fridge

Looks OK the only problem I have is that the water dispenser opening is short if you have a tall glass you can't fit it under and the water spills all over even if you try to move it around when you are filling it...... other than that it's OK

When we purchased the house the the fudge was a deciding factor. My wife and our realtor busted my chops about it but I demanded that the previous homeowners left the fridge. Little did I know that the fridge, the stove and the dishwasher "a trifecta" were of the same brand. We came to find out that the ice machine and water dispenser is inoperable, but I believe it's an easy fix. However the fridge still works fine. Overall I'm more then please with the fridge and the way it makes my kitchen look so sharp. Oh and my wife and realtor aren't busting my chops now! ;)

When we bought our home, the refrigerator was already here - I guess since 2007. We have nothing but good things to say about it! Many of our friends have purchased newer refrigerators and all have had problems with their ice makers, at the minimum, no matter the brand. Our ice maker is amazing. We are thinking of replacing it solely to have stainless steel and all appliances matching, but that's not due to the appliances not working - solely aesthetic. Also, we have a 1950 Hotpoint that still works amazingly, so maybe it's just our luck! :)
