Anyone else had this problem?

I have a macbook pro and when i purchased this monitor only had the VGA adaptor, so used that for a few weeks, i now have the HDMI adapter and the quality of picture has dropped dramatically!
Also, while powered off, the monitor makes a weird buzzing noise.
Has anyone else had these problems? :)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
