Standing out in the crowd of flatscreen choices on the market today, The W2361V-PF shines on its own as a sleek competitor with smooth lines and a classy look. Setup is simple, the features are just right and the performance speaks for itself. The color representation is wonderful, dot pitch is excellent for this size and edge to edge clarity and response time is perfect. A clear winner in the LG lineup of flatscreen LCD technology monitors. Super bright and crystal clear, this one is sure to please the wallet and the eyes. Great HD resolution for gaming, multimedia applications and an all around pleasing visual experience when attached to any output device, whether it be a pc or any entertainment appliance. Enjoy your purchase, this is a great screen.

Excellent!

I just got this monitor and was blown away immediately after removing it from the box. It's quite large considering that I upgraded from a 17" CRT. After letting it warm to room temperature then installing it, I was glad to see that there is a self-configuring dialog that I could follow. This gets you started. You can set it to your own preferences at your leisure at a later time. This monitor is so wide that you can open two full windows side-by-side at the same time which is very convenient. The colors are bright and appear quite accurate to me. The images are sharp. I am very pleased at this early stage and hope that there is no degradation of these positive attributes later on during it's life span. I intend to use it mainly for internet, home office, and professional photographic editing and believe that it will perform these duties admirably. If I had to change anything at all, I would design a different and larger base (or base mounting), and I'd change the location of the feature buttons. I'm seriously thinking of figuring out a way of "robbing Peter to pay Paul"... so that I can purchase another one of these for my wife's use.
I like it!

Unwrapped it, plugged it in and have been using it ever since without a glitch. Great clarity, appealing to look at. Too bad it has been discontinued. I am sure LG has newer versions. Try an LG or at least give them a good hard look before you buy anything else. I am totally happy with mine and will heavily favor LG when I need another product.

Blu-ray monitor

I bought this monitor to be HDCP compliant so that I could also install a Blu-Ray drive on my computer. The picture quality and video performance are very good and I would recommend it highly. Also it has all 3 types of connections, HDMI, DVI, and D-sub, which is rare.

Great Picture

This monitor offers one of the best values for its price point. Setup out of the box was relatively easy. The only minor invconvenience was that the included monitor control feature (forte) does not work with Windows 7 and is no longer supported. However, the included in-monitor controls are more than adequate. It provides true HD (1080p) experience and the colors are crisp and vibrant. I would certainly recommed it.

The good, the bad....

For a crisp image in Photoshop or looking at camera pix, it's excellent. At least at the 1080 resolution. With my system, any other resolution has distortion, unreadable text or jitter in the image. Ok, I haven't tried them ALL yet, but most of the 60hz ones and a few of the 75's.
To change aspect ratio, some programs are horribly distorted in widescreen, you have to go through 5 keypresses of the buttons on the side of the monitor. And then 5 more to get back to widescreen. This is paralyzing if you have to do this 10 or 12 times a day.
As for selecting a compromise resolution, see above. Most just don't work well.
Pros: Quality
Cons: Features/Settings, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
