[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the same dishwasher for 17 years and just recently upgraded to this Kitchenaid. WOW! Unbelievably quiet and cleans like crazy!
I used my previous machine to lull me to sleep at night. I know, I know...most people use their TV's to do that. Yes, it was loud. LOL!
I'll be shopping for a new refrigerator soon. Kitchenaid will definitely be on the top of my research list when I begin my quest.
Pros: Innovative, Convenient Features, Quiet, Performance, Design, easy to use
Cons: easy to turn maching on by leaning against it
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've kept this dishwasher too long

I bought this years ago, and it is still running. (Dang it!) The heating element is too close to the silverware basket. After a while you notice your knives sliding through holes where the basket has deteriorated from the heat and broken. These holes get bigger and bigger until you either stop using the basket, or get a new one. About the time your knives are start falling through the basket, or maybe before, you'll notice your top rack items aren't getting clean. When you disassemble the water delivery and filtering system (pull out the trays, unscrew the arms, pull off the pipes, remove 4 star bit bolts, take off the filters and get in there with a flashlight to see what's going on), you'll find all those pieces of the plastic basket and lots of chunks of food trapped by the guards that prevent anything bigger than a grain of rice from entering the hard food chopper. The accumulated junk down here impedes the water flow, reducing the pressure available to wash your dishes. Take out another, smaller star-bit screw and remove a the cover from the hard food chopper. You may need to toothbrush it's screen and remove other things blocking the water flow. Eventually this chopper or the plastic pieces that hold it together will break, and you'll have to put in a new one, which isn't as easy as the YouTube videos make it look. Reverse those steps to put the dishwasher back together again. Get used to this procedure - you'll do it every few months as long as you own this dishwasher with its "maintenance-free" hard food chopper. I've also replaced the proscrub plastic piece once or twice (same heat degradation issues as the basket), the heating element (maybe it's just trying too hard?), and the pump. Oh, and I've replaced the lovely maintenance-free hard food chopper, too. Not sure why I haven't just replaced the whole darn thing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
